some guy on ebay selling what is described as XB heads, but they look more like off a sportster. and they are black.

The heads on the 04+ 1200 Sportsters are the XB style heads but with different mounting and vent implementations to fit in XL's. The Sportster guys refer to these as "XB heads" to distinguish them from the pre-04 heads. They are probably late model XL heads.
