I did the search and couldn't find what I was looking for.

I have a tree falling in the woods question.

I have the race muffler. I like the sound While I'm on it, but I don't know what it sounds like to other people as I pass or ride next to them.

Does anyone know where there is a sound file or video of what the race muffler sounds like under throttle (not just at idle).

Thanks.

have you looked through the exhaust shootout stuff? there are roll on sound clips in there.

Some pro-recorded race muffler's audio clips are still on my website...
if you are interested go to "files"... ;)

I've heard the files in the report, but it just isn't "real life".

Very true...

The audio setup I had at the shootout had some issues to be sure. A flaky audio compressor was the biggest culprit. I'd do a few things differently if I had it to do over again.

But one of the biggest problems is that you can't truly capture the sound of the muffler with the bike on the dyno because the knurled drum against the rubber tire with a strapped down bike generates a LOT of noise of it's own. And in the small room with hard walls, the sound bounces all around and it doesn't sound quite the same as when it is in the great outdoors. The general nature of each of the pipes is still discernable, but it is a far cry from the sound the muffler makes while heading down the road.

Ft bstrd - I was wonderin' the same thing. I had my brother ride my bike on a "ride by" and then the both of us on separate bikes took a ride. I rode on both sides so I could hear it. I thought it sounded good. Not too loud but enough grunt to sound strong.
