I want to lower my CityX I have been told to change out my rear shock and send my forks in to get reduced. Is there any other suggestions? Or does that sound about right? | ||

I am getting the street fighter seat for my CityX for the same reason. I tip toe on it now. I should be able to flat foot with the street fighter. From my understanding the low seat is not as comfortable but is lower than the street fighter. | ||

See if someone with a xb9sl or xb12scg would want to do a suspension swap. Keep it simple, try a different seat first. | ||

Fastlane, I am 5'8" and my city was tall for me. I got the low seat and that helped a bunch. Then, while at the track, I took the advice of a racer and took one click of preload off of the rear spring and took one line preload off each front fork. I went in on the compression and rebound by .5 turns. My bike handles so much better and it is lower. I'm not saying that this is right for you but try it before you make an investment. You will need to increase both the rebound and the compression by .5. Make sure to increase turn clockwise not decrease. This is needed to manage the softer spring setting. I gotta tell ya that this is softer than recommended but my bike handles so much better and is a tad lower. Perfect! Try it. You can always go back. Kickstand should be changed if the bike is lowered. Take care not to bottom out. | ||

Fast, I feel your pain. I ordered the lowering kit from DaveS. I bought the rear shock and the conversion for the front forks, did the work myself. All in all I dropped the bike about 1 1/4" overall. If you do this the kickstand will have to be modified or the bike rest standing almost perpendicular, one wrong breeze and crash. | ||

I want to buy the xb9sx(city). I know you can use the seat from the xb12scg to help with seat hight, but I still need to lower the bike about 2in. (close to a 25" seat hight) I"m only 4"11 and currently own a blast. I've out grown it and have wanted to buy the xb9 since 2003. There must be a company out there that makes something. I hope somebody can help me, I really want this bike bad. | ||

Can somebody tell me if there is a company out there that makes some sort of lowering kit for the xb9sx(city) I currently own a blast and have out grown it in experance. I'm only 4"11 so I need to get the bike as close to a 25"in seat hight as possible. I'm going to use the seat from the xb12scg to help, unless there is a lower seat I don't know about yet. Hope somebody out there can leas me in the right direction, I just want to finally buy this bike. |
