Hello, I'm a new member here hoping someone can give me some advice. I just bought a used XB9R - love it, but find the seat height a little high for me. I don't think I can even get both toes on the ground. I was wondering how involved it would be to convert this bike to the slightly more relaxed and lower position of the cg. I also wouldn't mind the front end look of the XBs as opposed to the XBr if anybody could offer some advice on that or would like to trade. I did searches at the three largest Buell forums but couldn't find enough info. (I did find help for my speedo issues though!) I hope someone might be able to point me in the right direction. Ronlv, Do you find it handles any better or worse, and don`t know if your into doing the ODD wheelie from time to time, but do you find with the cg now it hits harder and ya have to ease it down more now than when it was the reg. R ? | ||

With less travel you will have to be gentle landing wheelies on a cg. Not a concern for some of us, power wheelies under acceleration are all I do. | ||

mine has a 240 rear tire, a r riding postion (r upper triple and r pegs) with the low suspension wheelies all by itself handles just fine for my everyday street riding i love it | ||

Blockhead, Diablo- Here's some reference info for the Low/High suspension swaps: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/32777/186162.html?1143814966 I've got a post with link to pic showing the High & Low components side-by-side... RonLV and I traded, and the swap was fairly EZ using front and rear track stands. Topic covering the XBS versus XBR front ends: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/3842/224809.html?1157649463#POST7 36857 Putting XBS front on an XBR has been stated by others as unlikely, due to the XBR's front-mounted ECM and fuse box, compared with limited volume inside the XBS front "module" thing... full wiring harness change would be recommended (which is what Ron did - is that right?). Swap from XBS front to XBR would be simple. Hogs, my XB handled fine in "Low", same now in regular height with proper sag adjustments and damping tweaks. Now I've modded suspension components for better overall handling. Can't comment on wheelie hits. Mark Oregon | ||

Ron, you said you have a 240 on your bike. Did that fit on stock rear wheel? I guess the extra room came from the chain conversion? Would love to see some pics from the back of the bike. |
