JGP is a really fun track, great winter track too. They've had a New Years eve/day track day and party for the last couple of years. I hope to do it again this year.

Last year it was in the mid-high 60's

Leon with Private track time was there. I talked a couple of riding buddies that had never done a track day before.

They're both hooked now...

You can check out www.edbargy.com which is a racing school (and good for those who don't even want to race but want to advance their skills to the next level) go to the link for Jennings for upcoming dates. You don't have to do Ed's school but its a great school for the price. They also have other local tracks listed as well with links.

They're a few track clubs like www.sportbiketracktime.com and a few others I haven't done like RPM- etc. or just sign up at the Jennings web site on open track days.

Ocala is about 4 hours...maybe a little more. I go camping and mountain biking at Santos in Ocala at least 4 or 5 times a year.

Jennings is awesome! The weather was beautiful. Was in the 50's over night, and warmed up into the 70's during the day. Can't wait for the next day.

I rode Sunday as a private track day. STT does events there. They put on good events. I rode with them about two weeks ago at Homestead Speedway. Talk about a fast track! I got smoked by a jap on every straight! Jennings is the type of track the Buells do well on. I'm doing another STT day at Moroso on Nov. 11th.

There is a group of us on sportbike.net in the South Florida section. Only a few Buells, but they're putting on the track days and they have another one coming up. They're cheap days too! I think they're posting the info for the next weekend at Jennings today. The rumor is it's only gonna be $130 for the whole weekend!!!

Yeah, same session actually. I'm fine, not a single scratch or bruise. Pretty crazy considering how fast I was going when I slid out!

Bike is ok! Handlebars need to be replaced (have a renthal, but think I'm gonna look for something else), shifter broke (already replaced), CRG clutch lever broke (replaced with stock), and CF frame protector needs to be replaced. The CF held up great! Other than that, my fly screen got a little scratched up, but it was ruined from the previous track day stickers anyway. The airbox cover caught a few scratch from the handlebars bending and hit it. Some scratching on the rear rail and seat, just need to re-powder coat. The fork and swingarm sliders did a GREAT job. The damage to my suit is probably more costly than the bike. Good thing my helmet is cool. I'd be pissed to drop another $500-$600 on a helmet.

All in all it wasn't that bad, and was absolutely worth it! Bike should be good to go tomorrow. Hopefully I'll have the cosmetic damage fixed by my next track day at Moroso on Nov. 11th.

I believe that's what happened. My legs were REALLY tired towards the end of that session. I was actually thinking to myself that I should come in early a lap or two before the crash. I was having such a good time, I figured just finish out the session. Was probably only a lap or two left. I'm the type to push it too. I mean, if you're not crashing, you're not pushing it hard enough, right? : )

I think the tired legs led to me putting too much weight up front, not coming off the bike far enough, and running out of front tire.

Tis' life on the track. Next time I'll come in when I'm getting that tired : )

dave - nice pics, what turn did the crash happen in? i hate the "i know i should go in, i feel like crap out here" feeling : (

i LOVED jennings... it was such a fun track. the back half is so twisty technical. my profile pic is from jennings. i went to a CCS race there in 2005 with an (ex)boyfriend to watch him race, and when i got the opportunity to go this past april, i was so excited. it definitely lived up to what i thought it would be. crazy good traction, smooth track, very technical. way cool.

: )

That pick of you dora looks like a low side about to happen. Crazy Nice pic. I'd love to go to jennings to even watch the first time. I live in Orlando and am going to plan a trip one of these days.

Buellgirlie: Happened in turn 8. Jennings is an awesome track. It was a BIG difference coming off of two days at Homestead Speedway the previous weekend.

Isham: I may be up there for two days in November on the 18th and 19th. 1000RR.net is doing a private track day. Not absolutely sure if I'll be there. I should know in the next day or two.

I agree on the low side comment. You gotta get off that seat Girlie! : )

I'm sure you know how to ride. It definitely looks like it in the pic. I'm just pokin' fun. I know it's easy for me to stay on the seat and just whip it around, but it gets expensive when you start wearing through your boots : )

Here's a perfect example of the same thing. This was turn 6, I think, at Homestead.

turn 8 is hairy. i blew turn 9 several times by being so stressed out entering 8.

my profile pic is of turn 8 - the photographer just happened to get the most severe lean angle on film (way cool), but i definitely learned that there wasnt any more room. it actually wasnt going to be a low side, i was good leaning and tires were brand new diablo corsas. it was the hard contact that was going to be a potential high side since there were parts dragging that werent smooth and didnt give. i ground down the shifter peg and then it hit a slight change in pavement, i had to stand it up and almost run off in 9 to not crash.

have been working on body position ever since! have dragged knee a few times since then, but its a serious effort for me to do that instead of my instinctual lean tendencies, honed by years of off-camber four wheeling and hanging on for crazy angles there.....

Yeah...that's a crazy pic of you in turn 8. That whole turn is chopped up. Working on body position is easy. Just start by hanging one cheek off the seat. I'm big, and my riding style is different than most (you can tell by the shot up top with me draggin' knee in turn one), but once you start coming off that seat, you'll see a HUGE improvement in your riding. You look small, compared to me at least : ), so you can probably keep a lot of weight over the front of the bike and still hang off. BTW....dragging knee is way over rated.

Nice pics of the jeep too! : )

i dunno. hanging off the bike doesnt come naturally to me, so it doesnt translate into "HUGE" improvement for me : ( it just makes me tentative and lose smoothness because its so different than what i do naturally (which is lean like hell)

working on it though, because i have no more lean angle left!

Trust me on this...your riding WILL improve when you start getting off the seat, and the improvement will probably be huge. Don't tense up, just slide off the seat. Start with one cheek, then as you get more comfortable, try hangin off more. It's not something you're gonna do perfect the first time. It takes practice. The good thing is, IMO, if you're able to lean the bike over like that without getting off the seat, you're a step up on everyone else. Most figure things out the opposite way. You're comfortable leaning the bike...hard...it's obvious. When you start hanging off the bike, you're just gonna get NASTY!!! Especially at a tight track like Jennings. : )

It you don't get off the seat, you can't go as faster. It's just physics. The thing about hanging off is it allows you to keep the bike up straighter, thus allowing you to get through the turns faster. The faster you go, the more people you pass : )
