Anyone try this windshield?

http://www.1tail.com/sa/p/Buell_Lightning_XB9_XB12_Windshield.htm

Do they work? Are they as ugly in person?

It can only look worse in person.

I have a real windshield on my XB9S.
It may not be what your wife wants but for wind protection it's hard to beat.
No wind blast at speed and no adverse handling problems.
Remove or install in less than a minute.
I could find nothing else that met my needs for real wind protection.
Picture in my profile.

i second the laminar lip ! the mounting "velcro" thingies are a non-issue! i repeatly haul ass on my 9-s and have NOT noticed any movement whatsoever of the mounting pads. also i have installed extra "pads" so now my windscreen is height ajustable!

I too have the Laminar speed shield. It works well and is easy to install as Cycleaddict mentioned.

"Laminarlip.com" - just under $100.

I was running at 110 today on the highway and the shield didn't move at all.

I'm trying this... from the Uly. I still think double sided tape/velcro is cheesy even if it doesn't fly off.

Zero Gravity one is fantastic, I've been using it on my bike for the last 6 weeks. Looks good, works good.

Another vote for laminar lip. With the clear version you don't really alter the look of the bike since the clear just disappears. It really helps at 80+ mph.

I'll try to post pics tonight.

Now, if I could just get a higher top year that doesn't require revving above 4K on the freeway!

So is it three different suppilers that sell them for the S models?? also they seem so short really to do much of anything on the Highway, where do ya all notice the difference?

For an average sized rider (5'10"), where does the wind blast hit for these windshields? I'm afraid some of these would just move the blast to my helmet area and create too much buffeting.

Zero Gravity looks almost stock like, Looks good...
The Laminarlip also looks good...

Wonder which one does the best job of deflecting the wind after say 75 mph. on up???

With the lip, there is much less buffeting than with just the stock screen. I'm 5'8" but I mounted it in the highest position possible which they recommended for someone 5'10".

In fact, on open highway, there is no buffeting just consistent wind force on my helmet. On the freeway in traffic the other cars/trucks generate significant turbulence that causes buffeting.

The lip protects you noticeably better than stock, but it isn't like being behind a full-size windshield on a cruiser. I haven't tried the others.

Here are some pictures - not the best lighting or angle, but you can see how the lip looks pretty good and the clear "disappears" to some extent and keeps the look of the bike intact.
