Hey yall; So Im wondering if Im a smacktard.. can one take/order a front end of the Lightning CityX XB9SX and throw it on the Firebolt XB9R. I ask this becuz I tried the lightning on fer size, and its to tall for me, but I like the xb9r also, OR, ( I think I answered my own question)can one just throw on the bolt xb9r seat on the lighting and take off the grip protectors instead. ??? thanks! | ||

If the CityX is too tall, all you need to do is replace the seat with one of the other seats for the Lightning, all lower than the CityX. They make a low seat, a standard seat, a Streetfighter seat, and a Select seat. Any of these should put you near the height of the R. | ||

As I mentioned above, I put an R Tail on an S. I believe that this is generally considered easier than putting an S front on an R because the R comes with a lot of electrical equipment in the nose, among other things. | ||

I have a stock standard lightning seat I'd be happy to trade for a CityX seat if you're interested. | ||

so how short are ya? my son was riding my XB12 a couple years ago, when he was 5 foot 2 or 3 maybe. remeber the side stand is only a foot long or so, (for an example of what it takes to hold up the bike) | ||

heck, I'm 5'4", and ride the CityX. biggest thing you have to realize is that on ANY bike other than a cruiser, a short rider can only get 1 foot down... that said, I use the low seat - not so much for saddle height, as for the ergo's when riding. I can definitely understand taller riders complaints that the CityX is cramped for long trips, 'cause even for me the standard seat put me in a position with too much weight on my wrists. ( LOL - the low seat is also at a better height for my knees to grip when I'm on dirt, riding stand-up...but thats seems to just be a 'me' thing ) |
