I was reading up on seats, and have always heard good things about Corbin. I was considering the Select, but really like the lines of the Corbin.

Just curious if the Corbin Seat works with the factory side bags and trunk bag. Also, the passenger section seems thicker than stock, but since I have a CityX (and no way to judge length of passenger area), I would like to know if the Corbin seat still allows for comfortable 2-up riding. It seems that everyone enjoys the comfort of the Corbin, but how does it compare to the CityX or Select seat? For me the CityX seat is comfy up to about 45-min, but then I get pressure on the insides of my legs, where the bottom of my hip bones are. It gets somewhat painful and numbing, almost like the CityX seat is too soft and the pressure points under my hips dig in. Hope that makes sense, its hard for me to explain. Also curious if anyone with a CityX thinks the Corbin lowered them down too much. I am 5'8 with a 32-in inseam and wouldn't mind being an inch lower so I can flatfoot, but don't want to give up too much of the CityX's command seating position and mess up my already comfy ergos.

Also any real world pics of your bike with a Corbin would be helpful. I am curious to see what leather patterns you selected for your bike.

if you're concerned about your passenger, definatly get the low seat. my friend and i both have a 12s, have the original, he has the low. we have switched and the low is better for 2up. there was not much diference for the "driver" they're both very comfy

One caveat with the Corbin saddles. Although they are supremely comfortable for a long haul, you will be cursing the man and his entire ancestry the first time you get caught in the rain. For some reason, he absolutely REFUSES to seal the seams around his stitching, so rain WILL soak into the saddle. Fortunately, the inner foam is wrapped in plastic so it won't soak into the foam, but it will remain trapped between the saddle cover and that inner plastic wrap for a VERY long time, causing embarrassing wet spots in your pants for DAYS after it's stopped raining...

My girl is very comfy on the back of the CityX seat, she says it is more comfy than my Sportster. My problem is that every time I brake she slides in to me and crushes my nuts against the airbox, and dammit that hurts! So one of the benefits I see to getting the Corbin or Select seat, is that I have a pocket and she won't smash my boys! If there is someone running the Corbin and the 2-up comfort for the passenger is similar or better than stock, i think thats the way I'd go.

Yeah, I try to avoid the rain on the bike, I am a fair weather biker, ha ha.

Save your money, they are not worth the price jump to $350.00, they were barely worth the $200.00 price they were at a little over a year ago. Terrible customer service, too. Plus they STILL charge you shipping from Calif. even when you can pick it up in person at their big store in Daytona, that killed the deal for me back when it was only 200 bucks or so.

for the rider of a Lightning the corbin cannot be beat. by far the most comfortable saddle obtainable.
I have twice gone a thousand miles in a day on the Lightning, and one very abbreviated weekend i rode 1350 miles in 29 hours. this would be medieval grade torture on any other saddle, but the corbin allowed the longer rides to be pure fun. tips for long distance travel:
try to move around a bit in the saddle, do some trunk twists, leg raises, stand up when occasionally, as when transitting road construction areas, or when the speed limit drops around small towns. practice using left hand on throttle when traffic allows. i found a few yoga stretches to be usable while riding, helps me stay limber focused, and ready for another hundred miles or so.

I rode the Streetfighter seat and now the Select seat.
Either one is comfortable for an all day drive.
The Select feels a little cushier, but seems to hold you to one spot, while you can move easier on the Streetfighter.

Well I just stopped by American Sport Bike and picked one up from Al, he actually had them in stock (almost exactly how I would have custom ordered it from Corbin anyway) and gave me a little price break for stopping in, which I really appreciate. Seat is on the bike and I am gonna go ride it tomorrow and see if it helps my riding pains. It looks very cool on the bike and gives it a little shape lost with the CityX seat.

what is the purpose for the "V" in the select seat, thought of picking one of those up, but how does it effect the passanger, or would i just swap out the stock seat when going 2 up?

that is for when the passenger pees there pants the air
the V channel helps carry away the waste before any of it gets on the driver

I have tried them all and the Select seat I have found to be the most comfortable. I think it really depends on your butt shape, size, etc : )

i just got the select seat from Daves. it is very comfy. i rode to deals gap with it about 430 miles each way and had no problems. i felt like i could keep going. i haven't had a passenger on the back yet. but i sat back there and it was quit comfy too.
