Would doing a long wheelie starve the front cylinder/engine of oil and cause a problem? why/why not?

Don't know but I heard it's not so much a problem with our bikes since they have a dry sump oil pump.

I think it all depends on how many doughnut shops and police stations you pass on one wheel...

I did a nice long wheelie the other day and when I put it down the oil light came on.
Kinda freaked me out.

I've never had the light come on while or after doing a long wheelie. I think you're going to need to be up on one for a hell of a long time to do that to a Buell.

Have you checked yer oil level lately? The same happened to me from a wheelie through 2nd. I was surprised to find I needed more than a half a quart before the add zone. I have since changed my preride inspection!

watched a couple guys from the " ARCTIC ATTACK" stunt brigade screw around on a couple XB's for about two hours. they did some really LOOOOONNNG wheelies, maybe 4 or 5 minutes zig-zagging around, doing some real nice ballet type moves on one wheel. Really they were just about dancing with the bikes. Any way the story is that to maintain oil pressure during extended wheelies they would completely fill the swingarm ( oiltank) with the engine all the way warmed up.
To repeat, in case you just tuned in : With the engine at full operating temperature they would completely FILL the oil tank.
they were flogging the bikes pretty hard, some of the ridiculous stunts involved one handed "swing your partner around" burnouts, and the bikes were even on their sides some times with the throttle wide.

Duff had to rotate his motor 360 degrees to keep it from oil starvation since he only rides on one wheel.

Doesn't your oil light stay on after killing until turning key off?
