Hi all. I've been lurking on this board for a number of weeks and recently bought an '06 XB12Ss after a 12 year hiatus from motorcycling.

All of my previous bikes have been (ahem) Hondas, so the Buell has taken some getting used to (I appreciate all of the folks who have posted concerning engine noise!), but I'm lovin it so far.

Thanks to all who have posted on the board. I look forward to participating in the future.

What color did you buy?

Black. The bike was a demo with about 300 miles on it (I was a little bit squeamish about that), but the dealer offered a hefty discount.

Taking it in for the 1k service next week (about 200 miles late).

Congrats on the Buell purchase TOMR. Hope all is going well with the bike. I myself have a black 05 with Buell Orange/gold rims. They are beautiful machines. Keep us posted. You located in CA? Margarita a.k.a MAGS

Thanks for the congrats. I'm in western North Carolina. Plenty of roads here where the handling of the bike really shines.

Hopefully the weather will hold this afternoon and I can get out and ride!

Tom,

Welcome! Have you had the bike on 181? I see you've got it listed and these bikes really shine in that environment.

You can't be very far from me,,,wow! We're picking up some Buell steam in the local area.

Tom - Speaking of local area, come over to Carolina Corner Carvers and introduce yourself to the rest of the Buellers in NC! Welcome and enjoy.

Bigdaddy - Yes I've been up 181 several times in the last few weeks. Great fun. I went up 18 north this afternoon. It felt like the bike was telling me to keep going just a little further. I ended up going about 180 miles. So much for just ducking out for a quick ride....

BTW - it looks like you're just down the road from me. We'll have to connect for a ride sometime.

Ulywife - thanks for the link. I'll jump over there and take a look.

"RATS, doesn't anybody buy BLUE anymore?"

I just bought a blue XB12Ss. It's one of the reasons I bought a 2006, rather than order a 2007. That, and I got $1000 off.

Yes, but it's hardwired into my Delorean. I’m still looking for a portable unit, maybe a handlebar mounted one.
