Alright, after much debate, research, and listening to other folks, I've decided to go with the Continental Road Attacks over the Z6s. I really liked them from the start, and I like the feedback I'm getting about them. Thanks to everyone for chiming in! All that's left to do now is het the bike to the shop and see how much the insurance company is willing to give me toward a new set...

Looks like I'm in the market for a new set as well. Took my S3 in for a TPS reset and the service guy pointed out the wear on my Michelins. The rear is almost to the wear bars in the center at ~8000 miles and the front isn't far behind. I asked for a quote on a new set of Pirelli Scorpion Sync's; he had them in stock and wanted ~$475 (!!!) for a pair mounted. So much for that.
Looks like the Conti Road Attacks can be had for at least $30 less than the Michelin Pilot Roads. I think I'll try a set too. |

Aj, If I were in your shoes and could get a discount which were major, I would do the Bridgestone's. That would have to be at least 50+ dollars though. The Conti's too me felt more planted in the tight stuff. Plus the mileage gain. If the discount were any less than that, I'd just pay the difference and smile.

This was taken at the Dragon on the way home from St. Louis. The bike was carrying an extra 75 pounds that the suspension was not set up for and never scared me at all. |

I'm getting some good wear on the Avon tire. I love this tire great sport touring tire Azaro-ST-AV46 .

The wife has them on her 05 xb12scg and she has aprrox: 13,000 klm`s on them now and I wd. expect another 1500 to 2000 more easy
They seem to stick as well as others... |

Avon Azaro, like a few others have said. Never had them on my XB (why would I?). They wore like iron on my FJR. Highly recommended if you're looking for a long lasting ST tire. Run them hard, 40+ psi. |

I presently have Diablo Stradas on my Uly, but am not satisfied I have the best tire. I will try the Syncs next and see if they are any better. The Stradas do get good mileage, doing much better than the OEM D616, and do get somewhat better mileage than the M2's D205, but does not have the grip of either of the Dunlops. |

I have NEVER had a problems with the stick on the Stradas, you've gotta trust 'em. They'll treat you right. |

Quick vote for Dunlop D220 tires. Mine have been on for over 5k miles and show plenty of tread remaining. |

Cochise - I have trusted the Stradas once hot enough to stick all the way to the point that I am scraping pegs on the Uly. I have also had the Stradas break loose on me over tar strips and painted lines. They also are not as good as either of the Dunlops (D616 & D207/D205) in the rain or colder temperatures. The Stradas also like to follow grooves on the road surface. They remind me allot of the Dunlop K505 Bias Ply tires I had on my Nighthawk. They are not bad tires, I just would not vote them the best. Of course, I do not believe I have found the best tire yet. Maybe what I am looking for does not exist. I will try the Syncs next, then the Metzler Z6. Allot of good comments on those tires. |

The D220 is a nice tire indeed. 7K on mine and it looks good.

Max, I like the look of the Avons, but 2 things steer me away from them:
1.) Out of all the posts, I think you're the first person to even mention them.
2.) My father-in-law has a video of some of the Buell pro riders, and there's one part where one of the guys complains about the Avons on his bike. He says something to the effect of "Put crap on your bike, you get crap out of it.". Not a big vote of confidence there.

I'm presently running Bridgestone 020 on the rear, BT56 on the front. On my XB.
I run this combo on my Hayabusa, get over 10K on rears, nearly double that on the front.

M2nc - You are right about the Stradas. They must be warmed up before they will stick. I have had mine break loose several times, all within the first 15 mins of riding. I had the Syncs prior to the Stradas and they required much less warm up and I never had them break loose on me. My friend has Pilot Powers on his Triumph and swears he cant get them to slide no matter what he does. Not sure how they wear though. |

The reviewer above repeats what I've read elsewhere about the Conti Road Attacks- they stick like Michelin Pilot Powers and wear like Michelin Pilot Roads. |

I had Avon Azaro's on my M2 and they worked very well. When I sold the bike, they had over 10,000 miles on them, and had a lot of meat left. They worked really well in rain, and gave good traction in dry conditions.
They seem to be favored by Iron Butt riders.
I was impressed enough by them that I put them on my Ulysses when the stock D616s wore out. Last weekend, I rode 2500 miles out to Springfield, IL and back in both rain and dry conditions at speeds up to 95 MPH and they worked fine. I like them. |

AVON AZAROS!!!!!! I can't brag about them enough!
I love mine. They have great traction wet or dry. I have only had them to let go once on a sopping wet paint stripe. Even then the let go was "huh, guess that stripe is slick".
PS. Just cause one A$$hat in a video doesn't like the Avons, it doesn't mean that the tires are bad. |

Just got back from another trip to SoCal after having the stock Dunlops replaced with Conti Road Attacks after seeing feedback here. I got about 8500 miles from the Dunlop 208s but it was really squirrelly at the end due to the flat spot on the rear from many highway miles (still not totally worn to the indicators though). I have about 1500 miles on the Road Attacks now and they are already flattening front and rear. The middle of the letters across the tread are worn away. Not inspiring confidence in lasting the 10,000 miles I am looking for. I was led to believe that the compound in the middle was harder but I'm not seeing the effect. I think I'll be trying the Pilots next time... |

I had skorpin syencs on my XB9S after 4000 miles looked about half wore out. picked up a nail on rear and went with a con. road attack seem like a great tire so far.I like the fact that it has a harder compound in center and softer sides. Fit s my rideing better than a true sport tire as I commument more than ride twistis |
