1 - would this allow me to hookup a "lipstick camera"? The only cameras I've seen with an input have been Sony. 2 - would I have to have the lcd screen open to record still? No. 3 - where I would place the camera I have now if I have to keep the LCD screen open to record it, yet isolate it from vibration Vibration is a big problem. I've found no way to get rid of it, even with a camera with stability control. Lipstick cam is the way to go mounted on your helmet. |

Pup" I agree you are breaking no rules; you're simply tiresome. A couple weeks ago I aid you were breaking no rules, you were just not that bright. You'll recall I posted the "you can't fix stupid" picture. I was in a bind and was challenged to "prove" what I was saying. Thanks for coming to my rescue and providing the proof. You should listen to more James Taylor:

Why is the PUP allowed to remain here> It is clear what his motives are. Do we need to endure his silly ass statements? |

He should be called "Theparrot" instead of "Thepup". He just keeps copying everything I say, and interjecting negative responses at intervals. My suggestion to kill vibration is wear the recorder on your person, up high on your body like the top pocket of a backpack, with the lipstick cam on your helmet. |

Thanks Glitch. Puppy, What Glitch said. He left one pertinent rule out though, the one about agreeing to honor any/all BadWeB related requests made by custodians. I have no problem banning you. If that is what you want, just keep stirring up consternation and you'll get it. The custodians are in agreement and our finger is on the button. It's all up to you and you alone. |

If you ban Puppy he'll be over on the Sack proclaiming his brilliance in being "another banned badwebber" within moments of finding out ... I say don't ban him JUST so he doesn't get the satisfaction . He's actually trying so hard to BE banned that his posts are deteriorating into completely meaningless and unintelligent garbage... It's kinda funny to watch IMO. I guess I'm just sick like that though... |

M1 of all people to get into this, you are just so clueless, still haven't responded to the torque post a month or so back,in fact, you never reply on here or sacborg when you are proven wrong. |

I'm not liking the situation here (relentless thread jacking), so I bought the Ram mount for nothing? If I cannot get it to work somehow, then I won't be recording any on-board video for a long time, and will have to stick to the "stationary tripod" on the corners. Does anyone have some links to a recorder and cheap camera that would work? |

"still haven't responded to the torque post a month or so back,in fact, you never reply on here or sacborg when you are proven wrong." That's because I just accept the fact and move on bro... It's not about being proven wrong or right. It's about knowing what's up . So a 1000cc Liter bike makes comparable torque... OK. |

Kyle don't give up on it. You can still get a lot of good footage and edit it all together. Like I said, my camera goes to a blue screen between 1500-2500 rpm, but the tape keeps rolling so I just get up to 2500 as quickly as possible. No problem with that aspect. Click HERE for a lipstick camera that will most likely work with your recorder. It has a link to check compatibility on that page. RAM should refund the money if the mount isn't what you needed. |

Ya, but when I played around with mine, it didn't go to a blue screen, it just shutoff. It has "drop protection" which turns it off to protect the memory, but even with it turned off it does the same thing, just not as sensative. My camera isn't on the compatibility list... gosh damnit! |

Just because it's not on the list doesn't mean it won't work. You've got a line input and it sounds like your camera is a newer model right? Probably their list is not complete or fully updated. I bet it works. |

Ya it's a newer model. Maybe if I just accellerate very slowly, or work the clutch to cut down on the vibes it might stay on. I'll ask them. |

"Grown men calling each other names. It really is hilarious in a pitiful kind of way. I mean really, when you think about it. Good grief." Personally, I find banning someone, just because they harbor a differing opinion, far more immature & repulsive! |

"Personally, I find banning someone, just because they harbor a differing opinion, far more immature & repulsive" In this case, that is not the issue. The PUP simply tries to inflame on whatever subject he can. He uses personal attack as his opening move and escalates from there. I say, OFF WITH HIS HEAD! |

I bought the Ram mount for nothing? Not at all, you'll find after some experimentation, an acceptable mounting spot. If you check some of the vids on my putfile there's some shaking going on. To find out if your camera will work with a lipstick camera, all you have to do is see if your camcorder has an RCA input. |

Personally, I find banning someone, just because they harbor a differing opinion, far more immature & repulsive! Personally I find making statements like that without doing your homework immature and repulsive. On the subject of lipstic cams, I find it baffling that with 480 lines of resolution they are still employing a composite (rca) outout. Should be S-Video at LEAST. Gotta keep 'em separated. |

Thanks for the direction this thread has taken. I was wondering who made the video cams that they use on the SPEED channel. Gives me an idea for possibly helping the visually-impaired people in my life. |

Do we have a consensus that the XR750 is the best Harley ever made? Sparky, I want one of those tiny camera video setups too. Let me know which are optimum from a cost/benefit standpoint for use on the track. I don't even own a video cam, so I'll need the whole package. I guess I'd prefer digital. |

only if the one your speaking of has a camera mounted somewhere on it. Matt/Glitch, The camera has a plug "AV"... so I guess you's were right. But it is my understanding that the camera is going to have to have the screen open to record, since it doesn't have a viewfinder... and it powers down automatically once the screen is closed. So... if I do find a CHEAP camera to hook up, I am still going to have to find a less vibrated place (my camelpac) and have the screen propped open somehow. CHEAP BULLET CAMERA ANYONE?! |

I have a feeling that when you plug an external camera in, the recorder should logically operate with the screen closed. You said it an HDD recorder right? Should be advanced enough to have that as a feature. Can you give me the name and model of your recorder again? I'll do some research, see what I can discover. |

As for operation with the screen closed, it appears that you need to turn off the Power-Linked Operation feature. If I understand it correctly it allows you to turn the camera on or off by opening the screen. Seems logical that it must be open to record in that mode so if you switch it off it should work. BUT, having read the manual front to back I can't find anything that refers to being able to use the A/V cable for anything but output only. Starting to look like the lipstick cam won't work with it, bummer. I'll keep wracking my brain. |
