Hey I'm looking to do some upgrades on my xb12s and was wondering if a tfi or a buell race ecm would be better. I have a tfi already from my previous buell but would need to buy the buell race ecm if that would be a better way to go. And if the race ecm is better wheres the best place to get one for the best price? Let me know thanks.

What modifications have you done already to your bike? Exhaust/intake/etc? If it's still stock, save your money until it needs some fuel.

best mods are frame pucks, darkhorse moto sliders, and complimentary gear for yourself

I've got a k&n filter now thats it. But I'm going to put the drummer ss on it and an open air box.

you cant go wrong with the drummer. if you can scrounge up a race ecm it will work pretty good. other wise just go and get your stock one remaped with direct link

The race ECM should do fairly well with that combo.

Direct link would net you more and smoother power since it can be tuned for that combo.

The race ECM was designed specifically with the Buell race pipe and K&N in mind.
It does work with other mods, but it is not the best solution for other mods.

The TFI is pretty fiddly and a lot of people have chased optimum settings on them
for a long time. I see it as more of a band-aid type fix now that direct link mapping
is available.

Talk to Al at American Sport Bike. He and Terry (Buelldyno_guy) have been the pioneers in Direct Link tuning and have the longest history with it.
Besides, Al is a great guy.

I watched Al and Terry messing with the laptop and the module installed on Terry's Uly up at Laguna. Al knows how to get it done. Safe bet - give him a shout.
