I'd like to hear some opinions on it. Sounds, performance, look, etc. Thanks.

I have it on my XB12R and love it - I've had it for a while now and have no issues. I'm waiting for an updated map from Al so I can get my ECM flashed, but for now I'm running a PowerCommander to help out in the fuel department.

Looks basic, but good. Sounds incredible, nice deep throaty sound, not too loud unless you're really getting on the throttle hard...

As for actual performance, go to asb and look at their dyno shootouts...they ran charts on all the exhausts, it's up to you to find what fits your riding style and budget.

I've read pretty much the entire exhaust shootout. I just wanted to hear from some people that are actually running the pipe.

Thanks for your help.

I get compliments all the time! I'm running one with a KN, and a drilled airbox. In FL heat, I had my stock ecm dyno tuned with direct link and saw 93rwhp 84rwtq. Bike runs real smooth now...especially on decel. No popping at all. Can't go wrong for the money!

I just received my Special Ops pipe & fitted it up to my XB12S over the weekend.
Initial reactions are....... Wow, sounds & feels awesome.
I too am waiting on a remapped ECM & cant wait to get it on too.
The pipe sounds a bit louder than the Race pipe but way deeper with a very throaty note............to me anyway.
A bit like a bull on steroids & speed.
A good friend organized for it to be Hot Jet coated so it looks awesome as well.
Thanks Odie & Rich

Cheers

Well Macbuell, I'll just...

I too have a Silver Jet Hot Special Ops pipe. Stock ECM for now. No other mods to the engine as of yet. I was a little worried if I'd get a lean condition but so far no issues, and I have 2000 miles with it, some in rain, and the finish looks as good as when I installed it.
When Al gets the ECM mapping done I'll do that, but it runs fine with out, as long as there are no other air box or filter mods done. At least that is my experience.
Sound is real nice and you can definitely feel a power increase. Very good bang for the buck, plus a weight loss of about 6 pounds too!
I'm very happy with it. And Odie is a great guy to deal with.
