Maybe not surprising in the end, because the world is full of i***** And the dealers are also only an average of the society.

The idea why BMC builded the RR was to support Racers, not to offer HD dealers the opportunity to make some extra profits with a collectors item.

That is very upsetting that we haven't got our bike yet and even had our racing information listed on the application. They are also breaking their dealer contract by selling a NEW BIKE on ebay. This is sooooo much crap. Been waiting for 7 months to RACE the bike and these guys have theirs and are selling it.

Eagle does have a big racing program, though. Racing VROD's. They are neck in neck with our team to be the first street legal VROD to run 8's. We're both in the low 9's right now.

Well, I bid it up to $100, but I was outbid.

I guess some one wants it more than me : )

The seller ended this listing early because the item is no longer available for sale.

looks like it didnt take long to get the auction pulled.........

Yeah, I'll bet BMC wasn't happy with it.

I agree the racers should be getting their bikes FIRST.

I can't believe Eagle did that. I bought my Firebolt there, they are a good bunch of people. Still, I may have to run up there and have a look at it.

That kind of reminds me about the car salesman that tried to sell Jay Leno a Ford GT for about a hundred grand above sticker. Jay let the guy have it by saying that not only did he already have one (the first one available), but that he paid sticker for it.

There is much more than it appears on the surface to the listing by Eagle of the XBRR on Ebay.

This is typical stealership behavior. Sickening. This reminds me of when I was shopping for my XBR and there were waiting lists all over town. I had more than one dealer offer to put me at the front of the line if I paid cash in full instead of a deposit like the others had.

I think it was pure publicity. But the legal folks had their phone ringing when they walked in the door.

The dealer contract prohibits e-Bay sales.

I left a message on his ebay message center with my opinion of disapproval and told them that they lost me as a customer!

Um---

It doesn't look to me that this is Eagle HD. Looks like someone put down a deposit on it, thought they'd put "their" deposited bike up on eBay - either b/c they realized they couldn't plate it or whatnot - and instead of giving up - they thought they'd eBay it. Eagle was probably just holding the bike for them... Check out the other auctions - doesn't seem like a dealership.

If it was a brand new bike with no miles and a clean title, it BETTER have been Eagle doing it. Otherwise they have other problems!

At the very end of the auction, it clearly said, and I quote, "Seller's payment instructions
hello, this will be through a harley davidson dealership. This will be just like buying any new bike. Any questions please call 765-448-9132. thank you. this bike can be shipped for an additional fee."

So if Eagle is allowing people to sell through them, then that's a problem too. Ya just can't do that.

I've got a call in to Eagle HD/B right now. My friend down there is one of the salesmen. He sold me my Firebolt. He's going to get the straight story about the situation and tell me so I can relate it to everyone here.

I can tell you that I have had several dealings with Eagle in the past year and a half since I bought my bike. They have always treated me very, very well. I have no complaints about them. They are stand-up, straight shooting people that I fully trust. They are one of the top VROD racing dealers in the country. They won at IRP this weekend with a 9.25 @ 141mph. That rocks.

Let me get the real story before anyone passes judgement on them.

hey are also breaking their dealer contract by selling a NEW BIKE on ebay.

This is one of the reasons the XBs have such low resale. When the XB first came out you could get them below MRSR. It just about killed the XB market as far as resale goes.
It's also one of the reasons some of the H-D dealers no longer offer Buell.

Sorry, but that just does not add up. What killed the resale is dealers having to lower prices to a point where enough people were willing to buy the number of bikes the Buell built. Basic supply and demand. Too many bikes, not enough marketing, poorly motivated dealer network, there are any number of reasons, but the factory built more bikes than they had customers who willing to pay MSRP. Pries came down, and eventually the bikes found homes.

I love my Buell, but I would never have paid MSRP for it.
It is a great bike, but there are a lot of great bikes out there for the same kind of money.

Has anyone spoke to a person at Eagle Harley to find out about this or or we all just guessing. I have worked with them in the past and they are very into racing. They race v-rods bigtime and just put the Yamaha factory boys on the trailer in Indy last weekend. I'll call them tomorrow and ask about the RR

Yeah, unfortunately it only takes one poorly motivated dealer to bring the price down. Once one dealer decides he doesn't want to properly promote or sell the product, and opts to simply cut the price, all the local dealers take the hit, as people comparison shop.

As more and more dealers are forced to discount to stay "in the game," so to speak, fewer and fewer dealers see value in carrying the Buell brand at all. So dealers do an even crappier job, and eventually dump them as "not profitable".

IMHO, that's a large part of the reason that there aren't as many Buell dealers. It could be a big part of why there aren't "good" Buell dealers. Once a product is percieved as non-profitable, Salesmen will be less likely to try, the bikes sit around, and the downward spiral begins. It happened at our dealership. Without making a conscious effort, and a large monetary investment in marketing and inventory, we'd be one of those. (Not that we're 100% there yet - it takes even longer to get employees to "buy in" to Buells, esp. old-school style H-D guys who see Buells as "new-fangled" or whatever.) Dealers are used to bikes "selling themselves" as Harleys do.

I'm glad that a lot of people got good deals on their Buells, but unfortunately, those good deals are a big part of what eventually what led to the great distance between Buell dealers that everyone complains about.

That's the free market system at work, I guess.

After leaving this guy a message on his ebay account, voicing me and all my buell buddies disapproval on what was done, he left me a message back with his phone number saying "I hate buells, they suck...just call me at home if you have the *****!" So I called him but was unable to have an intelligent conversation with him.(Go figure!) But since he is inviting anyone that "has the ***** to call", the number is xxx-xxx-xxxx

Spryguy,

I edited out the phone number of your post -- I was going to dump your post and may still.

If you were invited to phone him fine and it's between the two of you. Absolutely no reason expose someone's private contact information without their approval.

My turn. <sigh> I removed your last post. It was problematic, on account of BadWeB cannot support personal vendettas or their promotion. Please avoid exploiting the board for that kind of miserableness. Best thing really is to focus on something positive. It sure is a lot more enjoyable.

Thanks for understanding. I understand how emotions can play into such issues. Been there, done that. Luckily, I have some very good folks watching out for me too, just like we're watching out for you now. Thank goodness for them. : )
