Red,

Any parts guy can check part availability in the entire dealer network. Daves has looked up part numbers for me in the past and if he hasn't had them he has told me what dealers in the country have had the part in stock. As I said, ANY parts guy can do this - finding one that will turn your $$$ away from their dealership by helping you solve your dilema is a true prize (and I'm thinking, will be rewarded with your future business).

As you may already know, Daves (@ Appleton H-D/Buell) offers a 10% discount to badwebbers, but he is in Wisconsin (and may still be on vacation). If Daves is still on vacation, Smokescreen (@ Stone Mountain H-D/Buell) has mentioned that he offers the same discount and is located a little closer in Georgia. Both these dealers are sponsors of badweb, and I'm sure that under the circumstances if they don't have the part in stock they will openly tell you what dealers do (again, in hopes of getting your future business).

This is, of course, if you are willing/desparate enough to shell out for a new part.

Hope this helps!
