Hey guys...Here is what i am up to now.

Blake PLEASE forgive me for posting this in the wrong area,
I am going to try and help some fellow buellers with this as it has come up numerous times with no real answers that i could find in the Knowledge Vault.

If I am wrong please point me in the correct direction.

My plan is to do the Motor Rotation this weekend (sunday). i need to remove my headers for some work.

What I am looking for is the best way to do this in a way that is quick and some what easy. I am almost sure you do not need to do all the disassembly that the manual states.

I am going to take pictures along the way and show as best i can the sequence to accomplish this procedure. i will do a small write up on the rotation of the motor and the re assembly also.

I have heard that dynoguy(?) can do it in a half hour, If i was to follow the manual looks more like 3-4 hours. i have not done this so i am going in some what blind. i own plenty of tools and work on my own vehicles myself. never been one to pay people to mess my stuff up. i can do that all by myself.

If anyone has a quick procedure they do when attempting this lets hear it..i am all ears...other than that i will just wing this and see how it goes. I am sure i will be able to skip some procedures as one gets better at knowing what to expect.

if anyone has some sort of procedure they follow and don't mind posting that would be great. items they remove first and so on. I figure the more going in the quicker I can get it done.

Well, I dont suggest following someone else's directions the first time you do a procedure like this. Your correct that the first time you do this it will take 3-4 hours. Follow EVERY procedure the FSM states so you can see how to do it correctly the first time.

After that you will see what shortcuts you can and what shortcuts you cant take on your specific bike. Once you have done this the first time you will be close to the half hour mark to rotate the motor. If your good I would say as quick as 20 minutes. Yes it's that fast once you have done it quite a few times. Ask me how I know.

First time took about 5 hours but it was dark and there was beer involved...

Next time was maybe two hours.

Third time was probably an hour if you don't count the 45 minutes of swearing and eventually destroying a perfectly good PCIII O2 sensor, then throwing the entire force header in the trash (I threw the "muffler" in the trash Wednesday).

Note to self... always use antisieze on an O2.

okay looks like plenty of ya have done it...

now lets hear what your basic list of procedures for unbolting items are.

i'm just looking to cut the time down for this, and make the pictures/write up easy to follow.
