Well I was slowing down at a intersection tonight about 10 to 15 mph and someone in a cage cut the corner into my lane. I go offroad and lost the front end. No damage at all to the bike and none to me. The grass was really soft and nothing broke!!! Whew. My Joe Rocket vented jacket and helmet did its job. I was really pissed until someone help me pick the bike up and I saw there was no damage. The cager never stopped either.

sorry to hear that, unfortunately, most people wont stop if they dont have too. it has happened to me twice, seems like if they think they can get away with it like no witnesses, they will bolt

You lucked out! Neither you nor the bike were hurt and someone helped you pick up the bike. ;)

You used up a fair bit of luck though so be careful! I hate when I hear of anyone falling, so few have the happy ending!

The world is full of stupid people like the person that cut you off. I spend a lot of time scanning my mirrors but it is sometimes hard to predict what people will do. It almost makes me want to carry a handgun.

I'm glad you and your bike came out of it OK and at least on decent person help you pick the bike up.

The cage probably didn't stop because they were to busy talking on the phone, eating a cheeseburger, and feeling around the back seat for some lost CD to even notice that they cut you off!

Glad it turned out ok!

I was suprised that there was no damage to the bike. I remember holding the clutch in before I went down. As soon as I got the bike up I looked it over and the shifter just dug into the ground. I checked the bike over last night and no scratches or anything. The front faring was resting on the left mirror. I will give it a wash and a once over to check it out again.

Thanks all
Yes Pete, I am fine and so is the bike. I will try and make it to another Brag meeting soon.

Don't you mean your only low side? Don't want to be repeating it.
Good job on escaping dismemberment, etc.

Glad to hear you came out relatively unscathed! Reminds me of that old good luck saying "Tank side up!" ... what do you say for Buells? Tank side.. ummmm...

"It almost makes me want to carry a handgun."

This reminds me I do have to get that re-app of my CCW permit in some day or another.

We always said, "Shiny side up, dirty side down", but you might not be able to tell which is which on my bike today.

Last summer I had a cage jump right into my lane from a dead stop about a car length ahead of me. I was doing about 30mph. No signal, nothing. I was really new then. I grabbed a handful of front brake, did a tank slapper and almost high sided. I ended up putting down my left foot and threw out my bad knee (ouch). I regained control of the bike and coasted to the left shoulder. The guy that cut me off didn't stop. I couldn't walk for 2 days, and limped for 2 weeks. I have become much better at anticipating other people's actions since then.
