Diablo. Can you tell us what small things you have done, and what you have gained. Im curious cause I would like to do some small mods to my xbsx without going to the full race kit. (not looking for major HP increase) |

My bike was built by Hal's. The reason you have a good shop build your motor is not for the big stuff.
It's easy to get the cases bored and major assembly done.
It's the small stuff that a veteran builder does that makes it worth while.
Chamfering oil ports, relieving some sharp edges, etc.
Before Direct link made 100 hp Buells common-place, my bike was considered a pretty hot bike.

Those numbers were with a stock 03 xb9 airbox cover (no nipple), and crankcase vents in the air box.
I'm certain that with a free flowing exhaust, like the micron or Drummer ss and some hotter cams there is a lot more power
in this motor. I think there should be another 10 reliable hp in this motor, maybe more. |
