I posted last week how my '06 XB12R broke down on the freeway when I was unable to select any gears. Well the Buell service dept. said that the problem was the transmission sprocket..evidently the clutch was adjusted to its maximum at the factory, and this has caused the problem. They have another '06 model in the shop with the same problem. So now I have to wait 7-10 days while they get a new sprocket and associated parts.
It's already cost me $450 to get back home, and then towing the bike to the shop, another 220 miles round trip.
Motorcycling is no longer cheap !

Ouch, I've never heard of this problem before.

Were both bikes bought at that dealership?
It sounds like it may have been a set-up error if so. The dealership is supposed to adjust the clutch as part of the set-up.

Just a thought. I'd expect it to be more widespread if it was a factory error.

I hope they get it fixed and back to you quickly.
