Ohio has some of the best, unknown, twisty roads in the US.

350 miles to the river run in Laughlin Nevada then home the next day. Buy the Buell comfort seat. Mandatory. The sore butt is a thing of the past.

From FT. Lauderdale to Orlando and back in one day with a stock XB12R, no probs. Been from FT. Lauderdale to Daytona, rode around Daytona and the surrounding area for ten days, then back to FT. Lauderdale. Had a stiff neck from that one for a few days, no biggie.

5,300 miles in nine days is the longest trip for me on the firebolt. Buffalo to "Running the Ridge" BRAG event in NC. From there to the "Dragon" to play for the weekend.
From the dragon to Barber's motorcycle museum in AL (a must see by the way). And then to Key West, FL. Camped out on the beach, drank a few beers, and then headed back to Buffalo.

Great trip! Ran around a hurricane going to Alabama, but never hit a drop of rain the whole trip! Did it on a stock seat also.

Boston to the border of Canada from the Vermont entrance and back home the same day. One of the guys I was with had a DWI on his record and they wouldn't let him in the country. We had to turn around and go back home.

I forget how many miles we did since I was so pissed we had to turn around.

Stock seat, custom seat, Corbin seat, no seat. It's all about the undies folks, the seat you think is the worst becomes the best with no seam undies. Unpadded bicycle shorts are the best followed by sports type boxers.
Don't believe it, ride 4-5 hours to a destination wearing that type of undies, switch back to briefs on the way back, you'll know exactly what i'm talking about.
Oh, the padded bike shorts some people swear by (I don't actually believe they have ever ridden any distance in them) have seams all around the pad that cut you like briefs, I know for sure. I ride road bikes 50+ miles at a time and a couple of 100+ rides a year and the seams don't touch a bike seat.

Oh yeah, Ft. Lauderdale to Valdosta Georgia for a party and right back the same day, XB9R with stock seat (with unpadded bike shorts).
Have ridden a non rubber mount Sportster from Ft. Lauderdale to Bridgeport Ct in 2 days as well

Portland Maine to Cleveland, Ohio 775 miles in 15.5 hrs solo. Heading home from the NE adventure a couple of years ago. That's only averaging 50MPH with stops, I wasn't even pushing it.

1000 miles in just over 24 hours. Appleton WI to Connecticut on a brand new bike.

The break-in procedure went pretty much out the window

I wouldn't hesitate to do it again, the bike is a comfortable as any other I have had for long-distance work, but a bigger fuel tank would be useful.

A must, get tank bag that fills up BIG. When you can rest your chest on it, it relieves you holding up the weight on your arms on bikes with lowered handlebars. Not-magnetic obviously, but 3-point straps.

I did multiple 600-800 mile days on two ZX-7's cross-country and cross-state. The tank bag makes all the difference, stuffed full with aerostitch pants, rainsuit, extra gloves and stuff. Mine have always been RKA's.
