Yeah, they just spend over 30 times as much to build them as they do the stock bikes doing what? polishing the pipes?
Come on Pup, you know as well as I do that while there may be some shared castings between a stock il4 and an fx
bike, there isn't a whole lot else they share. Maybe the C-F body parts are stock, or the suspension, or the forged
magnesium wheels, or the unobtainium internal parts, engine management, adjustable swingarm pivots, adjustable
triple clamps, wiring harness or gee, that doesn't leave much bike does it?

Lets see they are stock bikes, as long as you only look at the engine, head and frame castings (before machining),
paint jobs (sometimes), and throttle body (casting again, those are overbored too) Air box (At least the shell of it)
oh yeah and maybe the grips.

The question of more or less stock is a moot point. The bikes are built to race in the FX class, and are built to those
rules. The original question was "is the Buell a legal model" it's being revisited as which is more stock since the old
argument was proven invalid, and some people are just sure the Buells MUST be cheating. After all, they aren't
conforming to the expected norm. Get over yourselves people. They've gone from 0 to 8th in what 3 or 4 races? That's incredible.

I'll bet if it was Motocysz(?) doing this well the press would have it splattered everywhere with praise for a job well done.

It's OK, we're Buell fans, we're used to having to take respect by force. But don't pretend to be a fan while disrespecting
the huge amount of effort it took for Buell to get this far. There are a bunch of people working after hours off the clock to
make it happen, in East Troy and around the world. When you sit there talking/typing smack about their efforts it's gotta hurt.
Why can't you let people tell them congratulations without interjecting all this negative crap?

"Because I feel like it."

What a "comeback" - You've succeeded (again)in turning this thread into a "romper room" fiasco.

Most of us enjoyed seeing the XBRR do so well, we enjoy our XBs and we enjoy talking about them - you seem to be VERY dissatisfied with XBs, Buell's race effort and (for that matter) anything to do with Buells.

Why bother ??? Why not get a bike you can be proud of and brag about ???

It must make for a miserable existence to CONSTANTLY dump on the very same MC that you own ???

Do it now, break free, sell that POS and buy something (anything) that makes you happy - life's too short to spend your days making yourself (and everyone around you) miserable.

Wow, just spot read this thread and wanted to express my pride with the Buell team who placed 8th as well as congratulations to the 7 other teams who placed above.

Being a Buell owner doesnt just mean I love my motorcycle, but ALL motorcycles. I guess thats something that sets us Buellers apart, we give respect to where ever its due.

Go McWilliams and BUELL!

This is too much,I love it."you hurt my feelings talking about Buell" "you got schooled" "You make everyone unhappy".You ppl need to get a life.Lets review,I never put down Buell,I responded to a post that said the XBRR was closer to stock than the 600's,which is not true.People here can't handle that truth,so I am accused of bashing Buell and am unhappy with my bike, which I am not.has the XBRR been beaten in FX by pivateers?the answer is yes.have they had trouble with there bikes finishing races?yes, gee I guess I am a Buell basher because these statements are true.Brian,I would still like to see a post where I put down the effort of Buell,oh thats right if I don't say that Buell is the greatest and the best bike on the track,I am dissing it.Sorry that you have your life so wrapped up in a motorcycle brand that you can't take it when ppl state a few facts that are negative towards your beliefs.

Eexb,I have at times been dissatisfied with my bike, more the dealer than my bike.I am very happy with my bike, does that mean I have to agree that Buell is the greatest.I am sorry that you feel insecure with your bike choice,
I know I'm ok with my choice.

"Come on Pup, you know as well as I do that while there may be some shared castings between a stock il4 and an fx

You tell me,rules state that they have to use the stock cylinders, cylinder heads, and crankcases.Sounds like they would have to use the same castings. They have to use stock configuration, stroke, and stock firing order

"adjustable swingarm pivots,"

According to the rules, they have to use the stock swingarms, and they cannot alter any pivot locations from stock.

"and throttle body (casting again, those are overbored too)"

Stock throttle body subassemblies must be used, modifications are not permitted to intake bore castings and associated housings.

Seems those Japanese bikes are closer to stock than some ppl think.}}
Did I bash Buell in this post?

"THE Pup",

Brian said it best above, but it appears (as usual) you aren't going to understand what the grown ups are saying.

You just don't get it - you are on the wrong side of many posts here and your "opinions" on this one are so far off they are ridiculous.

You "pride" yourself in your independent "views" of Buells and etc, but fail to realize what a JERK you look like to the rest of us.

It's one thing to have an opposing view, but it's another to persist in the face of facts that refute and totally debunk your opinions.

While several of us have received "thank you for your support" e-mails from the teams participating in the Laguna races, you continue to make an ass of yourself "dissing" anything you can butt in on.

It is you who's "insecure", why else would you carry on with your CONSTANT Buell bashing on a forum comprised (mostly) of people who REALLY like their Buells ???

Riiiiight,you are a grownup,get a life moron.

"You "pride" yourself in your independent "views" of Buells and etc, but fail to realize what a JERK you look like to the rest of us."
Only to the few who don't comprehend that stating facts whether good or bad is just that, stating facts.

"It's one thing to have an opposing view, but it's another to persist in the face of facts that refute and totally debunk your opinions. "
What facts have been debunked?if anything I'm debunking some of the opinions here

Constant bashing, where?I understand guys like you,I see it all the time.State a fact about something they like and they don't like the fact, they get defensive and cry,it's ok though, you are on the right board for this, the usual suspects will be along to pat you on the back, and tell you what a great buell supporter you are,and that you get it and I don't.Look in the mirror and tell yourself ,"I'm Good Enough, I'm Smart Enough, and Doggone It, People Like Me!"

Talk about an idiotic statement.Name one thing the XBRR has in common with a street Buell.

That was your first post in this thread I believe. You came out swinging. Instead of saying "I disagree." You said "Thats an idiotic statement." You intentionally whipped up a fight in this thread, as I have seen you do multiple times in multiple threads. Then you turn around and say "Oh, I wasn't being negative, I love Buells, you guys stop picking on me. You guys are too sensitive." Cut the crap. You are a troll, plain and simple. You goad people into fights and then protest how innocent you are. Grow up.

Indy, unlike most of you,I am not crying.I think it's funny that people post things on here as facts, and because it helps Buell it's not questioned,as soon as the truth is brought up,people in the cult start calling you a basher.Funny thing is if you are in support of Buell you can say anything you want, point out any negatives and you are attacked, but thats ok on here.Do you think i really care what some little cheerleader says to me,I'll clue you in,I DON'T.Go into your garage and look at your bike and tell yourself how your Bike is perfect and everyone else doesn't get it.No one has shown me where I have been negative about Buell in this thread, please show me.

FACT: the Buell and the Japan inc. bikes they race against are all legal in FX.
FACT: Buell finished 8th at Laguna.

some fans, typically called "fair weather fans" are only happy when their team wins, no dominates the sport.
Other fans, real fans, enjoy the game and cheer their team win or lose. Sure we all like to win, but we understand that it is a GAME.
Detractors can be open about it and claim superiority in their team by results or by deriding yours or they can pretend to be a fan of your team and hide their derision in a variety of arguments.
Buell FANS, real fans, have enjoyed watching their team go from dnf to 8th place in a few short races.
Fair weather fans won't be happy unless Buell wins and then dominates the class.
Deriders will just switch their arguments around and continue to deride the effort when/if Buell wins a race.
Obviously we can all tell who is who in this thread, and let's face it, nobody is going to change....

The basic issue I have with PUP is his inability to correctly form sentences and paragraphs. This is writing skills 101 folks!

Hence, I get an immediate headache after trying to decipher what the hell he is trying to communicate. After I do, I realize it was not worth the effort.

To me, the issue is simple. The facts are that the rule makers have decided the RR is legal. Hence, it IS legal as they say so!

The last time out, the RR finished 8th.

The rest of the stuff is just filler.

PS-I think an 8th place finish this early in the game is quite impressive.

That of course, was an opinion.

Carry on Buell!

"Bruce,don't read my posts,"

OK.

"I bet if I was in the Cult, you wouldn't have a problem with my writing."

No cult here (look up the definition of the word).

"Sorry that I haven't had a need to practice my proper writing skills, afterall, thats whats important in life."

It is obvious that you don't work on this skill. That you diminish it speaks volumes of you!

"I will admit, writing wasn't my best subject in school, although I still ended up with A's in my english classes."

Honesty about one's own limitations is admirable. However, it is obvious your English teacher had issues of her/his own!

Now, I suggest you at least work on paragraphs, sentence structure, capitalization and those other basic skills before you start to challenge others here on the board.

Best of luck with your training!

I'm not really sure how this discussion got turned into a debate how close the bikes in FX are to stock. That is beyond the point. We are talking about FORMULA XTREME here. None of them are anything but a very distant relation to the stock bikes they represent, Buell, Yamaha, Honda, or whatever. Arguing about how close to stock these bikes are is like comparing a Nextel Cup Ford Fusion to Ford Fusion on a dealer lot. Thats an extreme example, but it makes about as much sense.
