I need to get new cam gears for my XB9. I've not done any other engine work, only airbox mod, race ecm and race muffler. What kind of aftermarket cams could I go with and would it really be worth it? I'm not looking for too much more than already is present power wise. I won't be doing any head work on other with this engine. What cams should I upgrade to? |

With a mostly stock configuration, keep your stock cams in there. On the other hand a little head work and some tweaking, you'd probably see some more power with the addition of some different bump sticks. It doesn't sound like you'd want to go that route though. |

really not too much to gain from just a cam change...if anything you would be looking at having to do things you dont seem interested in to make it worthwhile. i am not sure about the xb but usually if you start messing with cams there is head work, valvetrain upgrades, and remapping the ecm at a minimum to make it run properly. |

The RP610 is exactly what I'm looking at when I get ready to put new cams in. They are mild enough to idle well and keep torque in the bottom end, while boosting hp. Brian Nallin knows his business. I wouldn't hesitate if I had the $ today. I will caution you that it is very easy to over-cam a street vehicle. Talk to someone like Brian Nallin (revperf) or Terry Parsley (buelldyno_guy) they won't lead you astray. |

I dont think I would do cams without a good set of new heads. I would love to do it but my pockets say no. If you end up doing it post your results, I would like to see them. |
