I rode too. All 4.8 miles in Laguna Seca touring setup shakedown; nothing fell off. Good to see the bike parking lot nearly full. Ahh, life is good. Getting better tomorrow. ;)

I ride to work everyday. Except when there is snow. No problems parking. In a city of 60,000 it's not that big compared to NYC! Everyday is ride to work day!

I'm off work today, but I rode to court in a 3-piece suit. Now I'm home, the monkey suit is off and I'm going riding.

Everyday, however, using the Black to scrub in the new Avon Vipers for their weekend test!

They have the stock size - however, these are in 140/70-16rr and 110/70-16fr.

I ride to work every day. 'cept for snow and ice. I usually ride my FJR though. I little more comfy and I can use my bags for stuff. Took the Buell today to scrub in my new Scorpion syncs.

Topic veer! How do you like your FJR, Tim? I've been looking at one for some time now and am hoping to make it or something similar my next bike so that I have something comfortable enough for my g/f and I to take on long rides/weekend trips.

I'm a little upset that they made ABS standard on the new ones and thus added 70lbs. >.< If I want to get one now it looks like I'll have to look for a used 2005.

Darthane, sounds like you want a Ulysses... No ABS, comfortable for two-people. A Ulysses with a full set of luggage will cost about the same as a new FJR1300 but it'll be a BUELL. The 2007 Ulysses even has a real world seat height from what I can gather.

Darthane,
I love the FJR. It's the best bike I've ever owned. 23,000 miles in 14 months. Mine is an '05 w/abs. You can go to the other forum I lerk around in www.fjrforum.com to get all the feedback you'll need to see if it will be right for you.

Jaimec, don't get me wrong - I love the entire Buell line-up, but at this time not even the Ulysses encompasses what I'm looking for.

The FJR is a much larger bike and its carrying capacity as well as (theoretical, since we've not sat on one together) ergonomics for longer rides outsrips the Ulysses, in my opinion.

...if I want to tear-ass around, I'll take the Firebolt or even the Blast. If I'm going camping/cruising, I'd take something like the FJR, which is still sporty 'enough', by accounts I've heard, to give me a good time should the urge arise.

Never toured on a FJR, but I can say that 2 up the Ulysses is as comfortable as any BMW except maybe the LT (light truck) I am usually riding 2 up, as my girlfriend loves to ride. I had an R1150RS (2004), and she likes the roominess, and comfort much better on the Ulysses.
I am closing in on 7k miles since feb 20, and love this bike.

From what I've seen, the only thing (ergonomically) the FJR will have over the Ulysses is the weather protection, which is a BIG plus in my book. Hey, my other bike is a K1200LT, so take what I say with a grain of salt. I travel with my sweetie on the LT, and bomb around on my own with the Lightning Long. For long interstate jaunts or multi day trips solo I'll usually take the LT too. You'd be surprised how well that monster does on the twisties (especially with the Ohlins suspension I've got installed).

In one of last year's issues of Fuell, an executive from Harley Davidson said that he found the Ulysses even more comfortable two-up than his Harley Electra Glide on long trips. That speaks VOLUMES in my book.

Home again! Saw more bikes this afternoon than this morning. Traffic was a little lighter, too.

EZ is there something wrong with the belt on your blast?
It looks like it's half gone in the pic.

Oh no! Someone stole half my belt! Hey - somebody stole my rear cylinder as well! - Geez - I must live in a dangerous section of SF! - lol - Belt is brand new - the pully is like that to ease the putting on of the belt - with the rearsets on both bikes - that is a remove one bolt job;0) - the pic is just tricking your eyes - you had me there for a sec - lol

I'm retired, I ride almost every day though. Today I went out to Acadia National Park and went up to Cadillac Mountain. Highest point in the U.S. on the Eastern seaboard at 1,530 feet. Its really only a hill but still has a nice view.

Lots of bikes going around on The Island today but most of them are vacationers. Way too much bare skin and exposed craniums for me.

I rode in the morning, but had to trade in the afternoon to my car due to some nasty weather blowing through.
