I need to adjust mine, but don't have the right tool for the job. What else can I use?

Best to use the right tool for the job, the spanner works so well, and I'm sure you can pick another up on the cheap. Or head to your local buell dealer, maybe they'll let you borrow one!

It came in the little tool kit buell supplied... but I bet any of the dealer sponsors sell the spanner, and I bet it's cheap, I'd have to guess in the $15 range...

In a pinch, you can take a brass rod, or a hard wood stick, and placing the rod or stick tangentially to the damper, on the teeth in which the spanner would go, just hit it with a hammer.

Don't tell anyone who told you, OK?

haha...sounds a little scary to me. I think I'll see how long it'll take to get the spanner first. But thanks for the info, hope I never have to use it

Just a thought. If you have another XB'er close by or post with your location and use the spanner from another BadWeb er. Only takes a minute once seat is off. If you don't change riding weight (passengers or other) you will likely never need to change setting.
