Brad , thats for all the info. If USAA is going to replace everything back to the way it was before looks like I'm in for a whole new left side casing, fender, bars... ect. I am going to wash the bike tonight to uncover any overlooked scratches or the like. I'll definately be happy if they replace EVERYTHING that got touched during this accident. I have a feeling once the dealer takes my bike however, that I won't see it for a long time, or at least the rest of this season. Sure hope they'll let me get a rental! Thanks again!

I LOVE the 2nd picture where she is helping by picking up the broken parts. Her husband would probably get a good laugh out of that one, TOO.

Or is she just writng down the insurance info. I like my first conclusion better.

She looks kinda cute. Tell her after you get your bike fixed we want a photo of her scantily clad sitting on the bike for penance. Then post it on the "Hot Chicks on Buells" thread!

I TRIED not to go there, I know her husband would probably not appreciate that, but you never know.

I always park at right angles to the curb as the bike is now almost as wide as a car and can possibly be seen in the mirrors.

That sucks, try for the rental and tell them it's your primary transportation.

Ha, well since everyone said that they would repair the bike to the original condition before the accident I washed it and did a thorough inspection for ANYTHING that wasn't there 4 days ago (last washing). The following is what I came up with:

The total of parts is 571.50, that is not including the rims, or anything to do with the mark on the swingarm.

My only conclusion for the gouges on the rim would be my clutch lever and/or footpeg flying into them. I am unsure of how the mark on the swingarm got there, maybe the plastic from my barend mirror when it came flying off (ended up behind the bike).

None of the above pictured was there 4 days ago.

Good use of the Skillcraft pen there. Sorry to hear about the accident she had with your bike. What if that had been a little child behind her van? Now that is scary.

Good luck with repair and replacement of stuff.

I haven't talked to her since the accident, nor have I seen her van anywhere. I would be more than happy to do the public service of taking the photo's and posting them for you's.

I sincerely hope that this doesn't happen to anyone, what a horrible experience. A few days before this happened I had just put on new Pilot Powers, at this rate they'll last until next season. The riding season is passing quickly here, I am not sure if I'll have time to ride again after all of this is sorted out and parts begin to trickle in.

The insurance needs to get you on a loaner quickly.

I'd be pushing for it as a commute vehicle that you ride to work EVERY day;)

My garage looks like a little shrine... my bike on stands, covered; with my leathers hanging up, boots below them, and helmet, gloves & neck gaurd on table.

I haven't heard anything from the insurance company yet, they said they'd call today at the latest. I'm getting impatient already.

Call them. Don't wait for them, it's not an urgent thing for the person on the other end of the phone.

BTW good job on the documentation pics

Funny, my left peg broke off in the same place when I dropped it (don't ask!). What's the point of the spring loaded swivel if it's just gonna' snap off anyway???

Swordsman, I suspect they're spring loaded for CORNERING considerations, not DROPPING considerations.

I experienced a slow pay with I was hit. Got to where nothing happened unless "I" was on the phone to prod things along.

I just had the same thing happen to my 12S about an hour ago, at the Suzuki shop!

People don't watch for bikes there, even!

Brian, he did, I didn't have to hit him with my cane, or anything.

His uncle is GM of the shop, says he'll take care of it. We'll see.

Hey now,
I've threatend people with my cane, but most people back down before I have to hit them! ;)

(mostly out of fear of how it'd look being in a fight with someone with a cane! )

Jens,

I'm still going to ride it. But since I don't have a kickstand I'm having the wife come in the car, with stands in the trunk. Unless I can convince my friend to loan me his R6 for the weekend.

Either way, bike or no bike; I WILL be there. We need to figure out what time you want to meet there at the gate. I'll shoot you an email when I get home.

I'm going to call them right now, to see what's going on.

Thanks guys!

Brian - thanks for the comments on the pics.

Jens,
The Insurance Claims Officer is coming to look at the bike at 9AM. Do you work with insurance companies or no?
