I am sure someone has tried it? Is it as simple as swapping parts between the two...or am i missing something. The lady friend has decided she likes riding so i am trying to make it a little more comfortable for us on some longer trips. Any tips or ideas? I have already looked into the Corbin seat for the XB12X...i think i will just need the seat frame and plastic.

Thanks,
Seth

there are supposed to be issues with clearance between the wheel and the undertray
at full compression of the suspension. I have not seen it tried yet.

It should make a great bike.

Does the Ulysses sit that much higher? or just not have as much uptravel. I was looking one over at the dealer the other day...and the only thing i "saw" that looked different was that the shock appears to be adjustable without having to remove the seat. Has a twist knob mounted on the left side.

The guys at the factory were the ones telling me/us there would be contact on the underseat tray.
I think it's because the Uly's shock is longer to provide more travel, and therefore different geometry.

I'd love to see someone try it though.

I am not interested in changing out the shock/suspension. I am very happy with the sporty suspension under my bike now. I just want the bigger seat with a back on it. If i keep the short travel shock that is currently under the SS and just swap on the seat frame and seat...i wonder if it would hit. It shouldnt allow anymore travel. I guess it just depends on if the plastic hangs down any further.

That's the configuration we were talking about. ss shock with uly tail having interference.

I was explaining that the longer shock changed geometry of the rear end and allowed the uly to clear.

I think with a little modification of the under seat tray it could work on the SS

What's the benefit of doing this anyways? I'm confused, haha.

the Uly seat is better for passengers.

An SS with the uly bags would be a great tour rig too with the new ZG st screen.

Ok...well, if it is just interference with the plastic... might still be feasible. Just need to find parts.

With the new seats that just came out of the buell webpage...this may not even be worth the effort. I may just fab up a small back rest to take on and off the SS?

That's true, I hadn't thought of that, and they now have luggage for the ss too.

Even if it's not hard bags, it makes the SS far more versatile.
