Sounds about right for single-quart, suggested retail for synthetic oils.

Check prices on various synthetics - Redline, Amsoil, Royal Purple, Mobil 1 - all are pretty pricey compared to dino oil.

I posted on the other one also. The MSRP of a quart of Syn3 is $8.95. No one is trying to get over on you. It's a misprint. I tried to call, but everyone is at the dealer show.

If you look up the same part number on h-d.com, you'll see it listed for $8.95.

Thanks Chellem, I was getting a to little excited about the "price drop"

Well back to 8.95 (MSRP)

Or in my area 9.40 plus TN sales tax 9.25%

10.27 a quart.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. : (

Seriously though, man, there is NO ONE at Buell. I understand there's quite a bit going on at the dealer show though.

Not much new with Buell this year though. Some nice colors.

The Syn3 is not actually real synthetic oil. It would be overpriced at the lower price.

Brucelee, "The Syn3 is not actually real synthetic oil." Please explain.
It says it's synthetic on the bottle. Are they misleading us?

Indeed, Syn3 is a Group 3 motor oil, which means that its base stock is dino oil that has been refined by hydrocracking.

It is legal to call it synthetic, but it is not accurate.

Real syn oils are ones with synthetic basestocks, such as Red Line, M1, Amsoil and the like.

OK OK - I stand duly chastised.

I have been using Motorex in 4L bottles for a couple years and needed to change the oil yesterday - went to the local HD/Buell store and yep... $8.95

Alas...

That sucks;
I use Mobil 1 to top off.
I get the changes done at the dealer so there will be no problem with the extended warranty.
I would much prefer a true synthetic like M1, which I can buy cheaper.
