Hmmmm... my original post went into the archives, and when I updated it, it didn't move back out here where anyone would see it. I followed the directions Matt (Pwznor) laid out on how to extract the diagnostic codes from the "Check Engine" light, and I got a code of "21" for "Interactive Exhaust." Anything I can do, or should I just get on the phone with the dealership? Oh, the plug Matt mentioned is under the saddle along the right hand side on the Lightning Long.

I pulled my exhaust servo apart and freed it up until I could get a replacement. I just left a little more slack in the cable to keep it from jambing up again.

Now here's the curious thing... I fired up the bike, and the engine check light remained out. Put about fifty miles on it, and it never came back on. Could it have been a false alarm?

Take the cover off your airbox and check the connections on your servo motor. Could be an intermittent short causing it.

It's a warranty repair. Some of the servos hang something to do with a burr on the worm gear or some such thing. Mine did it, they said it was a small sample of them that are prone to it. Buell will replace it.

Thanks, Al! You mean, it didn't have anything to do with the new carbon fiber lower belt guard and oil scoop, then?
