Author Message   Krt9r Posted on Monday, July 10, 2006 - 07:02 am:        I dropped the bike some time ago and it went rearward into a tyre barrier. This bent the rear subframe and caused the "+" of the battery to contact the frame... Now the battery gives about 3V and I tried to charge it a bit by connecting it to my car's battery. The voltage went to 9-10V after a few minutes, but then some time after I stopped the charging it was back at 3V. Could the battery be broken inside from either the impact or the short-circuit? Did anyone had to replace the battery after a mishap? Open cells can be caused by loss of electrolyte, by vibration or shock damage which causes a break in the cell connector. These problems are seldom repairable.
