Im going on a camping trip with my RV, my XB9RV. I'm going out to deals gap for the weekend. I was not sure if I could pack all of my camping gear. It all fits and I have plenty of room left-over for other nick-nacks! Just posted this cuz Im pumped-up for the trip and this will be my first big trip on any motorcycle. Over 700 In 24 hours. Thats alot for me on the bolt.

Going to see if I can drag the saddle bags.

I know you are from Middle Tn, but, WATCH OUT FOR THE FREAKIN' DEER! If you are planning on coming through Crossville to the Gap anytime between 6pmish through about 8amish they are out in force currently.

I just did a couple days up and down Hwy 395 between here and Reno, with my bike packed almost exactly the same way. It's amazing what you can carry when you set your mind to it.

You're going to have a great time. Try not to forget your camera charger and also leaving the camera switched on like I did : (

MAybe I'll see ya. My son and I are leaving at daybreak tomorrow and heading for the Gap and surrounding area, then over to the Natchez Trace, then down to the coast and making our way to the Gulf coast of AL. We'll be on a BMW R1200ST, Camping all the way. Have a nice trip.

I bet you some engineer who spent a lot time lowering the CG and centralizing the mass on the buells is banging his head on a desk right now.

Sweet. My brother and I are planning a long trip in September Time Frame. Probably NY -> Nashville -> Mrytle Beach -> Raleigh and back home. I just ordered the saddlebags and trunk for the 12S. Have a great time, and let us know how you make out...

Indy, be careful..aspirin thins the heck out of your blood and any bruises or worse will be far worse that they would be if you took some advil instead...which is not a blood thinner, but should help your knees...take 4, shouldn't be a problem..

Mike,

I will be there Saturday morning only. I tried to be there thru tues, but I have a big helicopter shoot Sunday/Monday. I love helicopters, and I cant pass up a chance to hang off of one for a few days. Last time they just strapped me on to the outside! I hate to say it, but is a bigger rush than the dragon! Don't you just hate weekends where you have to decide between riding the dragon or hanging off a helicopter.

Yall have fun, wish I could be there longer!

Wow! thats some serious luggage - I must be at the other end of the spectrum on packing - this my bike fully loaded for a 7 day 4000km trip earlier this year.
Packing light.

Haha - nah just the must haves 'socks - jocks - t-shirts and toiletries : )' But yes I do insist on a minimum of a hot shower and bed each night so I stay in cheap motels (or better still country pubs which are even cheaper but nice and friendly)

Advil will NOT make your ears ring. I know I take six at a time( thank God that I don't take them very often).

Marijane0569, aspirin is not a blood thinner! It simply interferes with platelet adhesiveness, or in other words, prevents platelets from adhering to each other...

my 2 cents...
