Still, I like Erik's idea of leaving the exhaust system under the engine. Makes a lot more sense, and is kinder to any passenger you may be carrying.

On the contrary, I think it's awesome looking. Also I notice it has two separate exhaust pipes with no collector.

It's nice to see a custom bike that isn't a cookie-cutter, unrideable chopper clone for a change. Ecosse and Confederate are about the ONLY visionary custom builders in my mind. Everybody else just builds generic choppers that are more driveway jewelry than actual RIDING machines.

If I had to have a custom, that is more appealing than something with no suspension and no handling.

I don't like the too-busy swingarm and frame - I bet they're heavier than they have to be. The bike doesn't flow right with the curves and the hard round shape of the sprocket cover and the filter cover looks like a jousting helmet.

It's just too busy looking and nothing seems to mesh very well. Have you ever seen the Watts Towers in LA designed and built by Simon Rhodia (sp?), well that is what this bike brings to mind. Eclectic, yes, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I will sacrifice "coolness" for engineering optimization, but this bike doesn't display either... It's an overpriced loser in my book. If you want to see something really cool and unique, take a look at the Boss Hoss.

Junk for junks sake. A very ugly outcome when trying too hard to do something different imho. I could do much better.

The big problem with the Ecosse and the Confederate is that they are not very well engineered motorcycles.

I should be extremely surprised if a well ridden stock 2003 XB9 wouldn't beat either one in the canyons or the Dragon, and to my eyes, it is a lot more coherent visually as well.

Why even mention the fact that you can get a nice '03 for about one tenth the cost of one of these "boutique" Harley Monsters.

Just my .02¢
