MV Brutale 910 vs Ducati Monster S2 1000R vs Buell Firebolt XB12R..... I picked up the latest edition of RPM magazine, a sportbike mag that is printed in England and is reviewed by English journalist/riders. There is a good shootout in there involving the XB12R and there is also a shootout between the Uly and some of its piers (haven't read that one yet). There is something about those crazy people on the other side of the pond. To them its not about raw horsepower (as anyone can ride fast in a straight line), they focus more on handling and knowing how to control your machine of choice. They seem to enjoy the Buells over that way a lot! I don't want to give the results of the shootout away, BUT..... Nevermind.

"I picked up the latest edition of RPM magazine"

Where did/do you buy this ???

Don't think I've ever seen it in Barnes and Noble or Borders where I can get PB, TWO and etc.

Aww come on, most of us on here can't get the mag. How about a quick overview of the article?

Lets just say that if the journalist had to pick between the three bikes that were tested....... They would go with the Buell XB12R. A direct quote here... "Its whole brilliant demeanor begs to be cranked mid corner, its capable of generating significant angles of lean." They also stated that... "For pure spirit and character the Bolt is hard to beat."

I remember seeing RPM in Books A Million stores, but I didn't notice any issues tonight (before I read this post...).

Good magazine.

They don't rely on advertising money, so you can expect them to actually come to some conclusions.

Their test of the 749R had a lot to do with my decision to get one. I would have to say their comments and conclusions in that test were in agreement with what I have found and for the same reasons I do miss the Firebolt at times (especially around town).
