THANKS - Looks like a great deal to me, just bought a pair.

I already belonged to their "buyers club", so they were even cheaper - $44.95 !!!

Thanks again,

E

They aren't racing boots. I got a pair and I'm not very pleased with them at all. They are too big in the calf area and they are not adjustable for fit. When I pull my riding pants over them, they balloon the pant leg out and rub uncomfortabley against the inside of my calf where the zipper is.

If you got big calves, they might be a deal, but I got exactly what I paid for... cheap boots.

Anyone want to buy my size 10's before I send them back?

That's about what they are worth. I bought a pair new of e-bay for $50. I don't like 'em much.

Now, they seem to run a 1/2 size LARGE. I normally wear a 11, ordered a 10 1/2. Fit great with lots of room. Much roomier than my Sidis.

I might be interested, dj. I have wide calves -and very wide feet. How are the widths? I normally wear 9.5EE to EEEE in boots.

I don't think they will be wide enough for your feet.

just spanner up the bucks .. frey-DAYTONA .. NEVER have a problem & never received a condemnation .. had one crash in them & perfect.

scrape the left toe on the track here & nothing comes loose .. ridden in hail on track w/ them & thru loads of water ..

ok, unless YOU do it .. they ain't water proof, but they ARE inner armoured booty & outter hand-stitched leather booty w/ FULL adjustability - to fit over yr leathers & under yr jeans & anywhere in between! ;)

the adjustable parts are velcro (3 straps on inner booty) & 2 LARGE *V* velcro vents on either side of each calf ..

anyways .. retail in canada is CA$649, i paid CA$470 (+/-) inc tax.

http://www.blackfootmotorsports.com are where i got them from.

The reason for bulky calves on riding boots is so you can tuck your pant legs in
comfortably. They do that on purpose;)

They're decent riding boots, but certainly not race boots.

really? not race boots?? well, i kinda knew that .. but i thought the thread was not quite PURE race.

so are the alpinestars fancy boots raceboots? also, the daytona model w/ pull *string* at top, are they not race boots?

not necessarily brand loyal here, but are we only allowed A*'s, sidi, gaerno, yadda ..

where can i find actual documentation on reqs for race boots, as i am going racing next year fo sho.

pauly.

Save your loot and get a proper boot...

Sidi, Alpinestars, etc....

Easiest way to spot proper race boots is to find a good brand name boot with replaceable
toe, and sometimes ankle and calf sliders. I have had a couple of pairs of sidis and
I'm kind of partial to them. My last pair (vertebra 2) are still in service as my brother's
race boots, I wear vertigos on the street. I always wear full gear. Every ride.

my daytona feature replacable toe sliders & reinforced toes & u can get the inner booty replaced too.

does that make them street only .. considering they have steel reinforced arch(well, heel to arch) plus incredible feedback thry balls of feet?!

while sidi are pretty & all that, for big flat feet, daytonas take the cake.

its all good brian.

"The reason for bulky calves on riding boots is so you can tuck your pant legs in comfortably. "

My Heine Gericke boots have an adjustable calf so I can pull my rain wear over them or tuck my riding pants inside. Even with my track pants tucked inside, the calf is too big on these Buell boots and they don't go high enough. I doubt they boots were intended to be worn that way.

Lighten up !!!

Mesafirebolt was just giving us a heads up on what he thinks is a good deal.

Sure - these are NOT racing boots like Alpinestars, Sidi, Oxtar and the like, but anyone who needs a pair of motorcycle RIDING boots probably can't go wrong w/ these.

AS, Tourmaster and MANY others get $100 plus for similar styled boots.

These Buell boots are certainly as good as (or better than) some of the short "work boot" types that some manufacturers are selling as "cool" AND protective "street wear".

The guy was just passing along some info.

No need to turn this thread into a "you're an idiot if you don't spend $300 on REAL racing boots ("like I did") !!!

For those of you that want a good deal on some "real" race boots - check this out:

http://www.newenough.com/setup_vision_boots_page.htm

These have been advertised (and reviewed ???)in "TWO" magazine and they appear to have a connection to Sidi.

Let the fur fly !!!

Or, just watch ebay. I bought my Sidi B1s for $65 shipped. Worn twice. The toe sliders didn't have a mark on 'em.

Well, since two non-sponsor sites have now been mentioned, we can expect to see this thread deleted fairly soon.

I was not trying to be critical, just trying to help people understand what the
product is, and is not. I have a pair on order for my wife to use as riding boots.

I did not intend to offend anyone in any way. Those that know me know I'm not one
of those guys that spends his time picking apart other people to make myself feel like
I'm superior. Quite the opposite. I try to help where I can.
