according to "Road Racing World & Motorcycle Technology" Volume 16, Number 6, June 2006. "...of the new 2007 Firebolt XB-RR Racebike in order to investigate the mechanical failures all four XB-RRs suffered during Daytona in March and to develop improved parts. ""We believe we've identified the root causes of the failures at Daytona, but we need to do more development testing before we're ready to go forward with the production run,"" Erik Buell, founder, Chairman and Chief Technical Officer of Buell Motorcycle Company said.""We want to make sure these bikes are turn-key reliable for privateer race teams. Daytona was a real test for the XB-RR and the dealer-sponsored teams that entered the race. We learned a lot and we're refitting those bikes developing solutions to the problems we encountered. We won't begin final production of the XB-RR until we're confident we've got these issues sorted out."" Full production of the 50 pre-sold XB-RRs has now been moved from late-April to early-May. |

Old news, currently they are awaiting bodywork to complete the orders. The first contractor dropped the ball, and they had to have new molds made to get the job done. Erik was really....tweaked...by the situation during homecoming. Expect the RRs to be shipped soon. |

Ok, I just bought the mag tonight, so I wasn't sure if anyone else had known. Sorry for repeating something that has already been discussed. |
