Had a XB12S, crashed & wrote it off. Bought a XB12R. - will the service manual for he old be sufficient? or should I get the Firebolt manual? - on the lightning, low beam on one side, flip the switch low comes off high goes on. - on the Firebolt flip the switch BOTH are on - is that normal? will the housing melt or warp? the low beam is kinda useless by itself... |

The manual should be close, some components, particularly electrical will be in different locations. Your headlights are working correctly. Unless riding in a group at night I usually run high beam all the time. |

Bikes are 95% the same. I think though that the suspension set-ups vary a little between the models (S to R) - not something to be overlooked. |

the newer owners' manuals are available online at Buell.com. under the FAQ tab. (Message edited by diablobrian on June 20, 2006) |

Sorry Diablo - I meant the service manual not the owner's manual |

The owners manual has the suspension settings for both the lightnings and 'bolts. I figured you were talking about the service manual before. It's all good! |

I've been using the Firebolt manual for my Lightning since I bought it. Big difference really is part location and the sub frames for the tail and fairing. The important stuff is all there. |
