Last time I examined them closely, it seemed to me that the Walmart SuperTech ST 4967 was exactly the same as the Buell filter. Both are made by Champion.

Of course Walmart could change suppliers at any time, as could Buell.

As the Walmart part is about two bucks and the Buell part is eight, I decided to buy the Walmart while I was there picking up my Mobil One for engine and primary.

Most of these filters are made by the same three or four companies. Most comparitive tests show the FRAM to be the worst.

I just got off the phone with Kevin Drum, and he said that he talked to someone from Amsoil and they changed part numbers. The SDF10 is not available on their website, they changed them to EA010.

I use a SDF10 Amsoil filter on my 06 XB12R, its the same size as the stock filter. The SMF 134 that the Tech line told me would fit was to big, fits a fat boy and other Harleys.

Any opnions on k&n oil filters? I am not real excited by the wally world and buell oil filter being the same.

So what does anyone have any idea which filter will trap the smallest particle? I don't mind oil filter changes more frequently if it will save my motor.

I'm not a fluid dynamics engineer, but if the oil filter filters too well then you risk starving your engine for oil. *Boom*

But I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. --not really

you can buy a "scotts" oil filter. they are stainless steel and filter down to 35 microns absolute. they look real sweet also.
