I currently run the race ECM, K&N filter, and Latus muffler on my XB9.
I have the stock muffler and was thinking of installing it in place of the Latus for a more quiet ride.
If anyone has this set-up let me know what you think of it.
Opinions of anyone are welcome.
Jack

I would think it would run rich.
Maybe foul a plug or two.
The Buell Race can isn't near as loud as the Latus.

I put a race ecm, and filter on my bike with the stock exhaust for about a month, just to see what it was like.
What I noticed:
it used more gas
it didnt have any more power

So I went back to the stock setup.

I don't have a stock ECM, the bike came with the race ECM installed by the dealer with the Latus muffler and so called race filter.
I am hoping that the race ECM would adjust itself enough that this combination with the stock muffler would not be too rich and foul the plugs or run poorly.
I don't care if it gives more power than stock but I don't want it to have less power than stock.
I don't want to have to buy the standard ECM, which I'm sure is tuned to suit the EPA and not the needs of the bike.

In closed loop it could be fine, but in Open Loop the MAP will be rich in several cells. We could tune the Race ECm for the stock muffler with Direct Link, but I am not too sure there is a demand for that combination. It takes a day or so to develop a MAP from scratch and Dyno Time runs about $100 per hour. So we invest between $800 to $1,200 to develop a MAP and are still backed up with several to do. ... Terry, once the XB12/Drummer map is finished and ready for consumption I'm planning to send my stock ECM out for the remapping. I think I read it doesn't matter what ECM you start with for the remapping but...

(Apologies if this has been answered) Will I get the CEL by using a stock ECM though? i'm currently running the Race ECM/Drummer/TFI. looking to simplify and tune.

If you live in Northern California I can remap your ECM and will dyno your bike, if not send it to Al at American Sport Bike and he will do it. We are still working on a few areas in some of the MAPs we have already developed. ... Terry
