Hello to all!! My name is Eric Ziegler and I have a 2005 XB12Scg. I have owned it since it since it was new and love how it rides. I was in an accident when a old lady made a left turn in front of me and I t-boned her!! After that I fixed the bike and myself and started to modify it. Now the bike has lots of power and it really unique!!

I just caught the use of the right scoop on your bike. One of the details that gives
away how much attention to detail there was in building this bike.

Quiet!?!? that's got to be a joke right Hogs? That's a straight pipe through a turbo.

The RPM of the Turbo is such that at higher speed it "Clips" the air, thus muting the exhaust note.

I understand that, but if the turbo spools up to speed at lower revs it will run out of
breath on the top end. Normally the quieting effect doesn't become evident until
the bike comes on the boost. So... around town it will be anything but quiet.

Granted, it certainly won't sound anything like the Buell factory muffler, or race pipe ;)

To answer the other questions: The exhaust by the left leg is not so bad. It feels like warm laundry. The turbo quiets much of the exhaust noise. It sound healthy but is not too loud. Check out the dyno run video. I use the stock ECU and tuned it with the Direct link software. I am running a boost referenced external fuel pressure reg. 115hp and 90ft/lbs was seen on the first dyno night. Best of all, I built it, all of it!!!

That's just sick!
And it's very rare indeed that I use the word "sick" in a positive way. That is just too cool.

Bravo!

How much boost? Very cool, but it seems like there should be more power.

Very nice. How much bbost can you run at a 10:1 compression ratio? I've looked into a Rotrex Super charger but not turbos...

Awesome. I'd hate to think about what my insurance would be like though if I told them I had a turbo charged Buell.

Ericz, I really like the vid of the dyno run.

Those new pictures of your bike are really nice.

Are you planing to put some black wheels on the beast?

Welcome to Badweb!

Thanks for all the compliments everyone!!

Vonsliek- why do you say it is no good for the track? It delivers power as predictable as the N/A configuration and is just as equally balanced weight wise. It didnt change the handling a bit, just upped the power output!!

Stou- I have thought about the black wheels but just put the silver wheels on so it might be a bit before I change them up.

Roc- You would think there should be a bit more power but, even though it is turbocharged now, the internals of the motor are stock. If I made changes to the motor that compensated for the turbocharger a little better there would be more power seen at 5psi. My goal was to keep the motor stock inside and crank it up to a safe level. I think that with more time spent on the dyno trying to smooth out the fueling I might see 5-10 more total HP. The current dyno charts are from the 1st and only evening of tuning; a first attempt at perfection never reaches its goal!!

Eric - Beautiful, clean install, great-looking bike (I'm partial to the silver wheels). Your dyno results are impressive for stock internals and low boost; sure, custom 8.0 CR pistons would allow more boost, but at what cost, right?

What's your strategy for the Aquamist setup? Injection point? Running 50/50 mix?

You must have done some turbo work previously to get sweetspot boost via correct A/R selection.

Did you consider an air/air intercooler plenum?

Is that an EGT gauge on RHS?

Sweet bike.

How did you get the HP and torque curves to meet at 6250 rather than 5250 on your dyno?

Spatten1,

Check out the scale on the dyno. If you look at 5252 RPM the numbers for torque and HP are the same.
