I really like the way my bike (9R) feels and handles when I'm two up, as opposed to riding alone. What does this say about my suspension set-up? What changes might/could/should I make for solo riding?

It might say you like being held. ;)
Try weighing yourself with all your gear, and setting up using the manual.
Or get with a friend and set up the static sag manually.
Sounds like you've got it set way too stiff.

How does it feel different?

You probably need to reduce the rear preload or soften the rear compression.

Two up increases the ratio of sprung weight to unsprung weight giving a more comfortable ride and seemingly more supple suspension, with the same spring and damping.

How does it feel different?

Can't put my finger on it or I'd have described... It's not like it feels bad when one up - two up just feels nicely planted, accurate.
