This may be getting a bit 'exhaustive' but I thought I'd chime in. I was so looking forward to having these results I made myself nuts while waiting. I thought great care was taken to make this test unbiased. I am sure if there weren't time constraints there would be less fussing about a couple of rich curves but I am satisfied. I have a 12 so my comments apply to the pipes for the 12.

I have decided to look at the data this way: visually scan the area between the curves of the pipe of interest and the stock pipe configuration. I found that for the 12 there was one pipe with the greatest overall improvement, i.e. the greatest area above the stock curves. There were other pipes that may have had equal to or better responses in limited areas of the curves but from my perspective the curve of the Micron seems to better suit what I am looking for in a pipe. The Drummer SS looked really great as well. I thought the Buell Race pipe screamed above 5K.

I also considered the timed factor. I thought that this showed how good all of these pipes really were. Most pipes really improved on the stock configuration.

So I have decided to go out and do some serious throttle twisting while paying attention to the RPM range I mostly play around with. I do wring the beasts neck quite regularly but I will never take it to the track. The race pipe is a smoking deal but just has that torque hole where I do spend a lot of time. It's what I am used to now with the stock pipe though.

I thought the shootout would make the choice so easy but what I found was that I really have to decide what I really want to change in the power curve of my bike.

Thanks again to all that made this possible. You have given me information that will let me make a choice I know I will be happy with. I think it is pretty hard to make a bad choice though. Will it be the Micron, the Drummer SS or the Buell Race can? I'll let you know.

You know what, this is EXACTLY what the test was supposed to achieve.

Every pipe manufacturer has a "reason" for what they build (or at least you hope they do!), and where they put the HP that they have to work with.

The test put this data out in the open, back to back, all at once.

Now, just as you have so keenly pointed out, each consumer can make an "educated" decision on what to purchase based on their own buying "criteria", whatever that may be.

And so in the end, the test has been a perfect success.

Huzzah!
