Has anyone installed XBS bars onto an XBR? If so what mods and changes had to be done to accomadate for the bars? Longer lines (brake, throttle, clutch), risers, fairing mod? I've seen the superbike bars on American Sportbike, but am not crazy about screwing with the ignition and lock. Can someone post some pics of the "S" style bars on a "R"?

When are you thinking about doing the change. I might be willing to trade everything on my S for everything on your R.

Have you ever thought about switching foot pegs too?

Check out my profile pic. I swapped a guy my R front end for his S. Main thing you would need it the top triple clamp that holds the S handlebars, ignition switch placement, and a longer brake line. The main thing we ran into was where to hide all the electrical stuff that is under the seat of the S. (ECM, fuse boxes, etc) I had some pictures of the process but may have erased them. If I locate them I will post them for you.

Thanks J_ups, looks good. I'm not interested in swapping complete front ends tho. I just want a more up right riding position as in the "S" models. I looked into just getting a "S" triple tree setup, but I'd have to relocate the ignition and i don't really want to do that. My best options are either the "superbike bars" or the raised triple tree setup that Americansportbike has. Superbike bars look kick ass, but not sure what the feel would be like. 3.5 up and 3 back seems like alot, I'd like to feel them first. Maybe someone who has a set on will buzz in.

I have the superbike bars, I love them.
I also have the sport touring windshield so the wind doesn't blast me in the more upright position.
These bars are made to clear the fairing, and do so just barely. I don't think the standard S bars would clear at all.

What about the heli-bars top triple. Is that too low?

I have the LSL superbike bars, love them. The extra leverage makes riding faster a little less taxing as well.
