I need someone other than the dealership that I bought my bike from to do the service on my bike when needed. It is bad enough that I was treated like a second class citizen when I bought the bike but now the jerks in the service dept are doing the same thing.

I brought my bike in last summer because it was running like crap, the bike sat there for 3 WEEKS!!!!!! Knowing what I know now (because of this site) all that was wrong with my bike was the TPS needed to be reset. I went by the dealership on a weekly basis to find out what was wrong and I never saw the bike in the garage. It wasn't until I complained to the owner that my bike ended up being fixed, THE NEXT DAY I GOT IT BACK!!!!!

Now I bring it in there last Saturday for the 5K service. I ask the Service Manager when he thought the bike is going to be done, RIGHT AWAY he starts giving me a attitude and tells me he doesn't know when it will be done. Once again I get treated like a second class citizen because I own a Buell and it isn't a precious HD that they want to work on.

First the sales guy now the service guys. The first time the service dept did this I said shame on them, now I say shame on me for giving them more business.

can someone PLEASE tell me of anyone that won't treat their customers like crap in the New England area that I can bring my bike to when I need service done to it??? I'll drive to NY if I have to.

I am a customer service engineer so I know how I like to be treated by my customers and treat people that do my type of work with great respect but this is ridiculous.

I don't know if I can post the name of the dealership (and do I want to) without breaking a BadWeB rule but if I can please let me know so I can let others know to beware.

post the dealership!!! dude like i say "LET SOMEONE ELSE FIX YOUR BIKE AND EXPECT SOMEONE ELSE TO f@$K IT UP!" ........DAMNUT you are kinda close to me, what is wrong with your bike? maybe we can get together and fix her up for ya. i can't think of much that can't be fixed on these bikes. MINIMAL of tools needed.

i have also herd good things of danbury hd/buell. also an option if you don't want to do the work yourself.
although i don't personally like sheldons hd/buell for various reasons they did good work when i brought my bike in for the 5k service and it was fairly quick.(2-3 days i believe). and expensive for what it was too. do it yourself! trust me. put the money saved into the bike or some gear. (i need some gear badly..next on my list)

Danbury CT, good people. about 2 hr 15 min from Taunton. I have first hand knowledge there.

Sheldon HD in Auburn seems very good also. I never needed them for anything, but the parts people are good and a lot of the staff wears Buell logo shirts. Where did you go?

Sheldon's has a good Buell Tech. Their Sales staff leave a LOT to be desired, though. I trust them enough to work on my ULY for warranty work.

Thanks for all the info guys!!

Firebolteric,

I usually do all the work myself but since I wiped it out last year and just got it all back together finally I wanted to give it to a tech just to give it the "once over" and the 5K check up. This is my first nonjap bike so I'm just being extra cautious after doing the work I just did to it. Next time I'll ask you since your so close and I can probably start doing EVERYTHING myself the way I like to.

I'll post after I get my bike back and let you know how long I have to wait this time.

Thanks for letting me vent my frustration.

Danbury is AWESOME. Best Buell support I've seen of ANY dealership in the area. http://www.hdofdanbury.com/

Only dealership who's web page doesn't leave you wondering if they support Buells, too!!

wow i just had a great expierence with Manchester HD Buell. Jake, who works in sales, is on this board. i talked to him about getting my TPS reset on short notice (3-4 days) because i was coming down from VT to help my fiance move up here from MA. needless to say Jake got right on it and the same day had me an appointment booked for that Wed. they had the bike done the same day with short notice during the peak season. i would have to say that is good customer service you just have to know who to talk to. i trust Manchester HD Buell enough that my fiance will be purchasing her first bike a Blast from them this week hopefully.

lonexb,

Have you tried Bergen Buell/HD in Rochelle Park NJ?? About 10Min from the GWB. I just purchased a long and the sales people and parts people are very friendly and knowledgeable of buells. I would say that half of them ride buells as daily riders. I haven't had the 1k check up yet so I don't exactly know how thats going to be. They have rides every Sat one for Buells and one for HD's. They are pretty active with brag, help seminars and riding etc.

just figured they might be closer than Hartford.

Most things on the bike I like to just do myself. I don't have much experience working on Buells but I can tell you this, after the BS that I am having with this dealership I am definitely doing everything myself. (unless I crash again)

I love the bike, I have always loved the Buell name but it would be nice to go to a dealership and feel like they WANT your business not like the have to because they sell Buell motorcycles.

I have the vdsts, just bought it so I could reset my tps after installing my race ecm. I was also very disappointed with the dealer I bought my bike from, Precision H-D, they quoted me $108 to reset my tps. When I was shopping for tires they were very expensive and would not mount tire I bought elsewhere. I do all my own work on my bike. Let me know if you need any help.

No problem. Also, if you are going to be in jersey, you should head up to Bear Mountain and check out Harriman state park. All hills, all twistie.
