Guys,

I am in the process of getting prices from Matt (Trojan) for upgrading the new XB (once I've run it in and completed first service)

I'm going to fit the Micron, Air box upgrades, K&N etc and am then planning on doing something with the ECU.

I have experience of Power Commanders, but do not believe they are available for the Buell XB's

I don't fancy the Techlusion as it does not give the detailed setup I am after.

From research I believe that the Rapid Bike is the best option in the UK, from Matt.

Al at American Sport Bike is offering the Direct Link software to reprogram the existing ECU.

I still have to do a detailed comparison before making the final decision, but would welcome comments from anyone here who has used either product?

I am expecting to make a decision within the week and place an order either way.

Comments Please!!

OK, I've been through a load of other posts, in particular this one;

I think this one from Al, answers the question fairly well

A power commander (and the techlusion unit) is an "in-between" box. It lives between the ECM and the injectors, and it modifies the injector duration sent by the ECM. But it knows only O2 sensor data and throttle position. It doesn't know anything about the info from the other sensors (head temp, ambient temp). The Buell ECM changes it's injector durations considerably based on both. As a result, ECMs tuned with power commanders typically only run well at the temperature they have been tuned at, and the further the temperature is off from that, the worse they run.

Time to PM Al re the setup I'll be running XB12s Open Airbox, K&N, Micron pipe, Standard 05 ECU.
