On my xb I have been noticing small oil seepage coming from the bottom of the rear lef side cylinder where it mates up to the lower end. Right on the corner. Its seeping not a drip. Will this get worse with time? Is this something I should GAMBLE with the dealer fixing..or is it something simple that I can retighten myself to repair. How hard is it to do this myself any suggestions? Hell, i dunno might it be normal? Thanks | ||

My xb9 has had a seep stain around the primary cover/lower end for over a year. Never gets any worse. It really does not even need cleaning. Unless its making a mess and leaving oil on the ground, I would just sray it off with brake clean. Hard to say if it will get worse with time. | ||

Sgthigg, It is a good idea to let the engine get pretty warm before you put a lot of load on it. The cylinders grow as they get hot and that is what seals them. The head/cylinder bolts/studs are not tight at all. If you jump on a cool engine a load it you are going to get some seepage around the jugs. Always ride easy until you get some heat into it. | ||

I had a rear base gasket leak/seep and it was covered under warranty. You may want to have them take care of it before it gets worse. |
