Has anybody cruised eBay latley and seen what some people are asking for 03' XB9S's. Some of these bikes have close to 10K and there still asking 6-6.5K. I bought mine this year with 2700 miles and picked it up for 5K. Are our bikes appreaciating in value or are these guys selling on eBay a bunch of knucleheads??

Well... Hopefully they are appreciating. I think that the steps taken by BMC are working. One thing that helps a company sell NEW bikes is if the old ones keep their value so it's not as much of a jump in price to just go ahead and get a new one...

What they are asking and what they get are often 2 very different things. Something is only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it.

I don't think they are selling for near that amount. Best I've been able to to on a 9R with 6000 miles is about $5,000.

I watch eBay religiously for a good deal on a lightning. Right now there's an '05 xb9sx with 3158 miles and an LED system inside the airbox to light it up at night. Pretty cool sounding, they're asking a buy it now for 6900. Then there's an '03 with 1392 miles with a gel seat and race kit with a buy it now of 6400

There is ask and then there is BID.

Do a search on CLOSED auctions and see what the selling price (if any ) is.

Ditto. Ebay makes people do silly things. A while ago I saw where people were buying tires on Ebay for more than the advertised selling price of many online vendors.
