Saw a guy selling some of those on ebay, they went for like $130 a pair (claiming they were limited production?).

Also saw some blue ones. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Heel-guard-set-for-Buell-XB-blue-anodize_W0QQitem Z4642499922QQcategoryZ35568QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Only thing I don't like is the color, it's not an exact match to the gold wheels, but are brighter which brings too much attention to them...

are they stamped like the factory heel guards, or are they machined?

they almost look like someone made a die for stamping the center out of the factory pieces.

I like their sprocket cover, but I like the Norris Performance/Drummer cover I've got better!

I've got the billet one on my street bike, and we have a black anodized one for the race bike.

Better yet, Drummer aka kdfab.com is a board sponsor! I do not see the sprocket cover on
the website yet, but if you call Kevin He'll be happy to give you all the details on this
new item!

Never mind, I read the auction description. Seems a little odd that after
paying to have the dies made he would only have a few sets made. Once you
are at that point it is very easy to crank out a hundred of sets a day or
more. The hard part would be over, unless his dies were of poor quality.

I worked for years as a machinist, both prototype and production line.
I am very familiar with the manufacturing processes involved.

Compared to CNC parts, stamped parts are very close to printing money
once you have the "coining" dies made. (pun intended)

I wonder if Mike Norris has any heel guards for the XB's in the works?
Maybe cut to match the sprocket cover? I'd buy a set;)
