Has anyone bought their bike into the dealership to have the compensator nut torque spec updated? If so, did the dealership cover the work or was it out of pocket? My XB12R has just over 5K on it and just developed a knock/rattle. I'm thinking it may be the the nut backing out or something to that effect. I really don't feel too confident riding it until the torque spec is updated and the noise is found. I also noticed a little weeping from the base of the rear cylinder. I'll keep ya posted on what happens. The bike is still under warranty by the way.

Mine loosened up twice. The first time I heard the noise I was just returning home from a ride so I shut the engine off immediately and trailered it to the dealer. They tightened the nut to the correct spec but two months later it loosened again. The second time there was extensive damage to the flywheel and other parts. The dealership fixed it both times and it was covered under warranty. I was told by the service manager that even if it was out of warranty they would fix it no charge.

Racer484,
How long did it take your dealer to fix the problem when there was extensive damage done?

mine came loose at 680 miles on a 06 SS. They had it for a week. Went 4 weeks later to get my 1,000 service done with syn3, bill was only $165. They replaced the primary with new syn3 just after warrenty work for free 4 weeks earlier. cant beat that!
