I let my Honda 919 sit up for about a year - I was dumb and left gas in it - now it won't turn over - I've been told the injectors are probably clogged - anyone have any experience with this problem? (Message edited by JoelE on May 22, 2006) |

Joele, I use AMS Oil PI in my FI bikes occasionally to keep my injectors clean. I use it in my work truck regularly. It is amazing stuff! Increases fuel mileage and it feels like I got an extra cylinder in the engine. It won't help you until you get the bike running though. On another note, how do do like the 919? I have been looking real hard at the 919 as an alternative. |

919 has lots of get up and go but the weight distribution is not as desirable as a Buell - that transverse four makes the bike tilt more than I like - whereas the Buell is night and tight. The 9er is also lacking in the rigid frame and suspension department - though these aren't big problems unless you intend to go canyon carving - a major bonus is that insurance treats the 919 like a standard. Now how do I clean clogged injectors!!! |

If you can get it running, techron is a great injector cleaner. You can get it at the cage parts store, and add partial bottles to the tank as you fill up. run the whole bottle through, as you run the bike and it will clean things up great. |

If it was running I would say treat your gas with SeaFoam. Stuff is great. But you cant get it started.... sorry I am no help there. |

You may have to remove the injectors and have an automotive shop clean them for you. |

Very carefully. Try letting the injectors sit in that Seafoam. Unfortunatly this means removing the injectors. Define "I was dumb and left gas in it - now it won't turn over - " as in fire or as in motor will not move??? Berryman makes some good stuff you should be able to soak the injectors in for a little while. "MJ" |

not sure if it is the same but i had the same problem with a lt1 engine i put in my truck. If nothing else works you can pull the injector and put 12 volts on it. ground on one pin and +12 volts on the other. I used a standard jump pack. When you apply the voltage it will open the injector. I put a little seafoam in the top and put the power to it so the seafoam could get into the injector. Do this just enough so the injector can fill with the seafoam and let it sit for a little bit. Again not sure if it is the same but that cleared up all the injectors on my LT1. |
