It lives, it breathes, and it truly kicks ass.

Just got off after my first ride on the XB12S and my hands are still shaking. No clutch wheelies in the first three gears. 0-80 in half the distance it takes the stocker. Purrs like a kitten at idle, roars like a lion at speed. I'll have dyno numbers by Monday.

Look under the sponsor news section to read the history of the High Country Buell/Nallin Racing Special Editions.

I'll believe it when I see it.
One thing why would they come out with another 9S model instead of a 9R model??

good job Justin.....I was wondering why it was taking so long. was it the fuel stuff? also what did Aaron and Brian end up using for the solution? Is it equipped with the same Force pipe that was on the "other" XBS when I came out?

Sam,

Actually it was the jet hoat coating on the exhaust that held us up (two weeks). We plugged the PCIII in and set it on old rich X1 settings and the thing runs like a dream. We'll do some fine tuning on the dyno, but other than that no worries.
No bull, it's much more than even I expected.

Justin, doesn't Henry Duga have a fully mappable ECM available instead fiddling with a PCIII? The PCIII won't allow ignition adjustments will it?

Justin:

Mucho Congratulato! . . . this has been in the "Team Elves Wish List" for some time and needed the likes of YOU, next to AARON to make it happen!

This is, I'm betting sight unseen, THE BUELL OF BUELLS. One I can buy new out of dealer's showroom that packs more waloop than I'll ever be able to control!

AWESOME !

X1,
From what I've gathered, Henry's black box is what you would call "unobtanium" ie: available to "race teams" only.....

Those of us endeavering to do what Justin and Nallins team have accomplished would be giddy with excitement if that piece were available. I am sure there is too much liability associated with releasing that piece to the public.

Just an assumption on my part.

The Duga box is $1400, we checked into it. I road the bike again, and had the kids at the local McDonalds giving me the thumbs up as I blew by on the back wheel. God I love this thing.

Stock is in blue

Modified is in red

I rode the bike. It's everything Justin says it is plus more. Feels like you're riding a high powered feather. Damn thing just wants to GO.

Whether or not we call this good or take it farther is HCHD's decision. We know exactly what's holding it back and how to address it. When you ride the bike, though, it's hard to get off it and say it needs more, and I know they don't want the thing to cost a fortune. Whatever, it's their call.

Aaron,

I like all that torque down low part.

I just got back from ride on my race kitted Bolt that was great. Man, that bike has a lot more juice to it, so I can only imagine how much better it must feel.

Are you guys considering doing upgades for existing motors? Or is this a "buy a XB12S" only type of proposition at this time?

Hey Timbo,

NRHS will be glad to do 1200 conversions like this to anyone's motor. That's the business we're in!

Making a ready to go package out of it like this, with a new bike, is High Country's deal and Justin's brainstorm.

So you like the race kitted XB9? Lemme see if I can dig up a dyno sheet and compare it to the XB12S ... yep, here we go:

XB12S versus race kitted XB9S - horsepower

XB12S versus race kitted XB9S - torque

The HCHD XB12S is in red
A race kitted XB9S, also owned by HCHD, is in blue

If you liked the race kitted XB9R, just imagine what the XB12S feels like!

The fat torque down low is what's making this bike such a wheelie monster.

Aaron,
Looks like there's more beef to be had between 4,300 and 6,400 rpm. You know the nice smooth umbrella/hump shape of the torque curve? I'm just looking at the shape of the curve and making a guess... looks like 85 FT*LBs at 5 grand could be achievable with tuning/exhaust? You agree?

You ever receive the winpep files I emailed to you?

Yeah, I agree, that pipe is causing the torque to come in early. But that's kind of nice, you don't have to wind it up to make it go the way you do with the stock bike.

We've got the a/f flat.

Winpep files? You sent me Winpep files? When?

The improvement to the low end is amazing. You know me; I like my bike to have a STROOONG low end. I like big beefy midrange as well. And a healthy top end ain't bad if you can get that too. :]

So how much does the 1200 kit cost, installed. This may be the deciding factor in my purchase of an XB9S!
